Airs & Graces: The Angel's Grace Trilogy Book I Kindle Edition
She's next. She's been folded into something that supernatural forces want, and it looks like she'll have no choice in the matter.
Tab's been through hell to make sure this sort of thing doesn't happen - literally. The red-winged Angel of Free Will cares vehemently about individual agency in human destiny. How much he cares about Addy herself may be another thing entirely, but at any rate, she has a better chance with him than with the rest of the Angelic family, Fallen or otherwise.
In a run for her life and a race in which the involvement of the Devil himself is considered among the least of their worries, Addy must find enough moments of calm to unfold the Angel's Grace inside her, learn from the visions it provides, and find the keys to Heaven and Hell.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2017If you're looking for a great urban fantasy with a flare of romance, plus something that covers snarky humans and angels, this is the book for you.
I typically shy away from urban fantasy that also carries romance elements, because almost always there is that dreaded "they're fated to be together, foreverrrrrrr" trope. The author thinly skates that line here, but that isn't really a bad thing. There is a /reason/ for their attraction, beyond the simple "character a and b are occupying the same timeline" explanation I see a lot with urban fantasy romances.
That being said, the characters themselves all have distinct personalities, even the ones we don't really see in the limelight. The plot, while apparently straight forward, is chalked full of character development. There isn't a dull moment to be found, right up to the end...where I figured out this is only the first book in the series.
Looks like you might have a [hesitant] genre convert on your hand.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2016Overall this is a great read. The chapters alternate first person POVs between Adelaide (Call me Addy), a mortal human who gets swept up into the war between heaven and hell, and Tabbris (Tab), the Angel of Free Will, who is trying to keep Addy safe. I was a bit apprehensive about the flipping POV being in first person, since I've read another book like that and I couldn't keep track of who was narrating, but that was never a problem here. Each chapter is clearly labeled at the beginning as to whose POV it is in, and both characters have a very distinctive voice and worldview that sets them apart.
The first chapter gets off to a little bit of a rocky start for the first couple of pages, but takes off like a rocket when Addy discovers her boss dying on the floor. When Addy goes to his aid something strange happens, and then moments later she is being dragged forcefully away by an Angel while a demon tries to kill her. By the end of chapter one I was hooked.
I bought this book from the authors at a book show, where they warned me the book ends on a cliffhanger, which is true, but this is NOT the type of cliffhanger that makes you throw the book against the wall in frustration. The main story arc of the book is nicely wrapped up by the end, but the ending also opens up new story threads which are left to be answered in the next book. I'm on the edge of my seat for the next installment.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2016I am obligated to say that I received this for free for an honest review.
Airs & Graces is a great first book for The Angel's Grace Trilogy. It circles around the angel Tabbris (He goes by Tab and is the Angel of Free Will) and a young woman named Adelaide, who prefers Addy. After having the misfortune of stumbling upon the murder of her boss, Addy gets pulled into a supernatural battle between Angels and the Fallen, which centers around obtaining the Grace of another angel. Tab becomes about the only person who is really on her side as they struggle to stay one step ahead of both sides.
The writing is beautifully detailed. This is a first-person book, with chapters alternating between Addy and Tab so if you don't like the multiple points of view, you may not like this. I didn't mind it one bit, but I like those types of things. I also highly enjoyed the different take on angels (sexy gamers anyone?) and the nice twist Cook and Downey threw in with their wings.
As mentioned by other reviewers, this does have a cliffhanger ending....so you have been warned.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2018I picked this series up last year at eucon and just finished this book. U have to say I love the main character Addy and I adore Tabbris. The flow of the story is great and I found myself always thinking the same thing Addy would then say so I loved seeing a snarky character. The authors portrayal of the humans Natura ability to face adversity and pick themselves up again was awesome. I can't wait to read more.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2016I wasn't sure how I would like this book after reading several of AJ's other books in the MC romance genre but I LOVED it! Addy's character is amazing she is a take no-nonsense kind of girl and I love that about her. She rolls with the huge amount of craziness that is laid on her shoulders after taking on the grace of an angel without realizing it. Tab is endearing and sweet as he helps guide Addy through the problems that they face trying to do what they feel is right with the keys. Jeffrey and AJ made a great team writing this book and I'm working on the second of the series now!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2016This book is so wonderfully written with such vivid detail. That is something these authors does very well. Every book of their's I read I feel like I am there and this is no exception. Every environment, every character all there in living color. These characters have AMAZING personalities. Each one written in a way you can say "Oh yeah, I know someone like THAT." And yet each one has something that makes them so very THEM. (especially a certain angel who is just so freaking AWESOME) You will not know who to root for, bad guys seem good sometimes, sometimes you would want to kick a good guy in the ass. The cliff hanger just makes you salivate for the next one, trust me I CAN NOT wait to read the second book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2015I really enjoyed reading this book. I was kept on my toes during the whole thing. There is a lot of action and adventure and twists and turns throughout. Warning, it does end on a cliffhanger, but it will leave you excited for more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great character development along with a sense of urgency befitting the plot
This was a fun start to a series with lots of great world-building and alternating POVs between the two protagonists. Given the nature of the plot it would be likely easy for everything to be too serious but there is still some solid humour throughout along with great interactions and all the characters feeling distinct. Also the fact that the sense of urgency is never lost even as there is great character development happening is fantastic.
I definitely need to pick up the rest of the series.
