4.5 out of 5 stars 124 ratings

Do secrets ever die? Or, do they merely wait for the right time to divulge themselves?

Detective Giorgio Salvatori is about to find out when the skeleton of a young girl who went missing on prom night in 1967 is found at the bottom of an abandoned well. The investigation will lead to a local historic landmark, where a lifetime of hidden secrets and crimes, including the murder of dozens of young women stretching back decades, is revealed.

Giorgio’s wingmen are back, including his brother, Rocky, his Basset Hound, Grosvenor, and the ghost of Christian Maynard. Together, they will face the depravity of sexual sadism, as Giorgio faces a very real threat against his own family.

Ms. Bohart kills people for fun and profit (on paper, that is).

She holds a master's degree in theater (directing) and has taught both acting and directing. She has been published in “Woman's World” and "Dead on Demand", an anthology of ghost stories that was on the Library Journal Bestsellers List. She also wrote for the Renton Reporter and has taught writing classes through Kent Parks & Recreation and currently through Green River College.

As an avid dog lover and canine rescue advocate, she weaves dogs into all her novels. In fact, they play major roles. "I want the dogs to be realistic, though," she says. "I don't like books that make animals seem like cartoon figures."

Ms. Bohart now has ten paranormal mystery novels on Amazon, along with two short story books, and two nonfiction books. Her most popular series is the Old Maids of Mercer Island. The first book in that series, "Inn Keeping With Murder" remained on Amazon's top ghost story list for over ten months.

She recently launched the NO ALIBI ZONE on her website as a resource for both mystery writers and mystery fans. The No Alibi Zone takes a deep dive into how homicides are investigated. Through her newsletter “Let’s Talk About Murder,” she interviews police officers, mystery writers, forensic technicians, and others who work in the field of murder investigations. She also writes the MURDER BRIEF, which are blog posts on topics like the serial killer gene, the Body Farm, whether eyewitness testimony is reliable, and more.

Like the first book in this series I felt it started a bit slow but, also like the first book, it soon exploded into action that just kept going and going. The story flows quite smoothly and as a mystery, it has all the elements plus a few extras such as a wonderfully smart dog, disappearing-then re-appearing ghost boy, as well as some helpful psychics. Even though these 'extra elements' are not major-major characters to the story, they do fill it out while at the same time adding a wow and suspenseful what if flavor to it. So, for all you die hard mystery readers out there who will instantly dismiss a book that even whispers the word ghost, don't dismiss this one.
I found myself both liking and dis-liking some key people in this story - not all of them the 'bad' guys, and it is a tribute to this author that she can make her characters so real to you that you can actually have quite strong feelings for them one way or the other. I don't believe in giving a synopsis to any story; too much can be given away in just a simple sentence, but I will say that anyone who likes action, does not like a lot of sex scenes or bad language, can and will appreciate this book. I also changed my mind several times as to who did what to whom. Hopefully the next book in this series won't take too long to make appearance. If there is a sign up sheet, please put me on it!

I stumbled on Lynn Bohart by downloading Inn Keeping with Murder. It was so enjoyable that I began looking for more. When a 40 year old skeleton turns up in an abandoned well Detective Salvatori gets to work and with a little supernatural assistance finds more than he bargained for. The skeletons start piling up as do the suspects. Very well written, I can easily see this as a movie as well as Inn Keeping...and hope to one day. If you enjoy mystery with a dash of the supernatural, you will like this one a lot.

I fell in love with Giorgio right away, and then the rest of the characters depicted in this story. They were so well written and normal..well sort of. I even believed wholeheartedly in Christian and never questioned his guidance. The murderers were horrendus, viscious versions of people and figuring out the who done what kept the plot moving right along. Would definitely read more from this author!

I finally got started reading this book after coming down with a cold. I had taken a Nyquil to try to get some rest .. but by the third page, I was so involved in the story that I fought of the effects of the cold meds and read until after midnight. This is an absolutely riveting story, well told and fast-moving. The characters are old friends from Ms Bohart's previous story, Mass Murder. The suspense is done just right: tense enough to keep your interest up, but not so tense that you get anxious over it (I must admit to not caring over-much for stories really fraught with suspense). I hope that someday movies might be made from the Giorgio Salvatori stories! Can't wait for the next one. I give this one five stars .. and I would recommend it to anyone.

Giorgio as detective, he has an old case a girl in a prom dress, mostly bones now, from 47 years ago. Found in the old well at the monastery. This was a darker murder dealing with rape, and a serial killer. The other part has to do with the personal life of him, and the changes in the family. Wife opening day care center, getting a dog. Good mystery once again by the author.
