Once I land, I see the one and only Henry Aldridge. All sixfoot and some inches of him leaning against the hood of his Bugatti La VoitureNoire. He wears a dark blue pin striped suit. His dark brown hair is longerthan usual; it almost touches his expensive sunglasses. He gives me a slightsmile, which is uncharacteristic of him.
"Sophia," he greets me with that thick, raspy voice thatmakes any woman who listens to him fall at his feet.
Not me.
"Henry," I answer, nodding slightly toward his luxuriouscar. "I thought we were flying."
"I chose to drive so I could pick up Blaire's package beforeyou arrived. Did you have a good trip?"
"As usual," I confirm.
"What's on your mind?"
"What?"
"Something is bothering you," he states.

There's something so annoying about him. He's so hot, butthen, he's...well, him. I can't deny I'm physically attracted to him butalso repelled by his personality. I blink away deliberately trying to avoidstaring at him.
"I could've packed your things and have them shipped. Youdon't need me," I explain.
He smirks. "Funny, that's for me to decide, Ms. Aragon. Whatbothers you? Traveling or sacrificing your weekend?"
Both. I glance at him and roll my eyes. "I refuse towork all weekend," I warn him.
He opens the passenger door and closes it once I'm insidethe car.
"Don't worry. I promised your friend that we'd be done bytomorrow afternoon, since we're celebrating Hayes' birthday," he states once hetakes a seat and turns on the engine.
"Woohoo," I say sarcastically. "I'm only working twenty-fourhours of overtime."
"I don't care for your sarcasm."
"I don't care for many things, and yet, here we are," Ianswer with the phrase he hates the most.
To push his next button, I pull out my noisecanceling headphones and make an entire show of setting my music and tuning himout.

Welcome back to Bakers Creek, I must say I have been anticipating the return because I was sooo looking forward to Henry and Sofia's story and it was definitely worth the wait. Henry and his brothers have been summoned to Baker's Creek to fulfill their father's will requirements and boy oh boy this man has really stuck it to his kids. But who knows the crazy old guy just many have know what he was doing all along. Sophia is Henry's personal assistant and goes above and beyond what any PA would do to make her boss happy but Henry isn't your typical boss either because all the perks he gives Sophia would make any girl happy. There is great chemistry between the two but its never been something they acted on until one kiss.....gah they were great together! Secrets and half truths aside Henry is the perfect guy for Sophia.     What do you think happens when you toss together six brothers who barely know and don’t particularly like each other and force them to live together for eighteen months? The Aldridge brothers are each successful and accomplished, but if they don’t fulfill the stipulations of their father's will, an entire town will suffer, people will be out of jobs, and a lot of lives will be devastated.

    Henry Aldridge is the oldest of the brothers, and the head of a hotel conglomerate from his mother's side of the family. He’s driven, Type A++, and a bit short tempered, and he doesn’t mind expressing his dissatisfaction with moving across the country at the behest of a man he despised. But if he's going to have to stay in Baker's Creek for the next year and a half, he's not doing it without his right hand, Sophia Aragon.

    As good as Sophia is at her job, she's still sometimes amazed she has lasted so long working for a man who’s been known to fire assistants on a daily basis. But she gives as good as she gets and doesn’t hesitate to stand up to Henry, and she makes sure he compensates her generously for putting up with his grumpiness.

    I already loved Sophia from the first book. She's smart and knows how to make things happen, has a huge heart, loves her family fiercely, and will do anything for those she cares about. Henry, however, was a different story. We saw only the workaholic, bossy side of him, and I was not at all impressed. But holy wow, this guy has layers, and the more they were peeled back, the more I loved him. And when he makes a decision to commit to something, he's all in.

    Y'all, I can’t tell you how much I adore this series! This talented lady has a gift for creating big, messy, cobbled-together families who effortlessly abscond with a reader’s heart while making her feel like another member of the family. The Aldridge brothers may be rich and even famous, with personalities larger than life, but that messy part? They each have flaws, shortcomings, and a lot of growth that needs to happen, but somehow those imperfections make them that much more endearing and relatable.

    Honestly, I’m in awe that this truly gifted storyteller delivers such quality work time and again, and each new book is better than the last. If you like quirky, charming small-town romance, look no further. With touches of humor, a nice dose of steam and so much heart it spills from the pages, this is one you definitely don’t want to pass up.     This is the second book in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series and focuses on Henry and his executive assistant, Sophia. This can be read as a standalone since much of the premise for the series is explained at the beginning of the book but reading the first book will add layers, allowing the reader to watch the brothers become the family they never were while they were all younger. I find the family dynamics of these brothers to be a big draw to the series.

    What worked for me – Watching the Aldridge brothers grow closer and circle the wagons to protect and help each other when needed was a real treat and were some of my favorite moments in the book. I really enjoyed seeing them interact in a much more friendly and loving manner than they did at the beginning of the first book. Bonus points were given for this being a workplace romance, one of my favorite tropes. Without giving too much away, I liked that the antagonist was redeemable. We need more female empowerment in romance. The hero didn’t give blindly or without thought. He quietly pushed the heroine forward instead of holding her back or allowing her give up her own ambitions to be with him. The glimpses of Pierce and Leyla had me eagerly awaiting their next scenes together and were also some of my favorite moments in the book.

    What could have been better – Readers never get to see the first sparks of the attraction. We aren’t shown the moments when each realized that they were drawn to the other. When the characters have their “I want more” moments, it felt like it came out of the blue and was rushed. These light bulb moments are my favorite part of any romance novel and not having it left me feeling a little robbed.

    I would recommend this book to romance readers who like series based on family members, a little drama, billionaires, and sassy heroines.

    I loved the banter and dynamics between Henry and Sophia. They both have strong personalities and challenge each other at every turn which seems to bring them closer together.
    Henry is so misunderstood. He may come across as heartless and demanding but there so much more to him than anyone sees. Until he opens himself up to Sophia, the one woman that is always by his side and the one person in his life that makes him feel that love may be possible for his lonely heart.
    Sophia is the one who truly understands him. She may not like him much, but in business she is right by his side and has just as much business smarts and savvy as Henry. She is also attracted to him physically so when he opens up and shows his vulnerable side to her she can’t help but open her heart to him.

    Two books in and I’m invested in this family dynasty. Hayes and Blaire started us off with a bang and we continue to fall in love with this very messy family saga.
    Henry and Sophie were destined first each other and provide lots of raw emotion and entertainment for their loved ones along the way. Henry’s all bark but hides his goodness well. Hayes has his number though and he’s slowly exposed as the good guy he wants to be but can’t show.
    Dearest Dad clearly has an agenda and we start to see this unfold a little further.
    Love that all the family are interwoven into each story and we learn more and more about each of them as the story follows.
