The sequel to Gordon Square: Psychological Thriller
It was probably not the most obvious choice for a three month sabbatical but to Emma coming to Holden seemed totally idyllic. She had heard so much about it and could picture every single segment etched in her mind like braille. Now she wanted to fill in the dots and bring it to life so that she could see it for herself first hand.
It was April 2026 and she had secured a three month, off the record, sublet in a beautiful apartment called Arlington Terrace. The apartment with the black front door. It was totally perfect for her, required no references and no questions were being asked as to why she was there. In fact no one even knew she was heading that way, so she could slip in unnoticed and live incognito amongst the locals.
So how was it that Julie found her again, when she was so careful not to leave a trail and why was it that she didn’t feel alone, ever? Was she going mad or was she simply being paranoid. What could she do to stop these tormenting acts from happening and make people believe that she was the one being persecuted.
Detective Sergeant Mike Brugge, Detective Constable Mel Brugge and Detective Sergeant Paul Osman are back at the heart of yet another investigation deep in the heart of Holden City Central. Follow them as they try to unravel a crime that intertwines their lives taking them back to a gut wrenching case that has infected yet another generation and into the horrors that emerge from beyond the grave.
"All the Little Raindrops: A Novel" by Mia Sheridan for $10.39

I was so excited to read Arlington Terrace by Tracy Martin-Summers because I loved the first book, Gordon Square. I’d recommend reading these in order as this does not seem to be a standalone.

I really enjoyed this. This takes place a few years after the first book, and it was awesome to see where Mel and Mike were.

There are lots of twists and turns. This novel keeps you on your toes. There is a bit of a sinister tone to this one, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I really hope there’s a third book. Check this out!

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources for the review copy and the opportunity to honestly review this book on the blog tour. All opinions are my own and unbiased.

poorly written trash don't waste your time like I did

I so enjoyed the experience of reading Gordon Square and was excited to jump in to Arlington Terrace right away.

Mike and Mel are such great characters and I enjoy all of the scenes that focus on them. In fact, I wish they were prevalent in the book as much of this story was focused on Emma and Julie.

There is another mystery to solve in Book 2 and once again, it is a crazy ride to get to the end of this book.

It’s a bit harder to write a review about Book 2 as I feel anything I might say could give away part of the storyline. So I will just say that if you are a fan of Crime Thrillers/Mysteries, Gordon Square and Arlington Terrace should be on your list!

5.0 out of 5 stars Author keeps you in suspense and on your toes throughout!

I loved Gordon Square so was excited to read Arlington Terrace and revisit the characters. Discovering where Mike and Mel are at in their lives years on was really nice and they instantly felt familiar again.
Like Gordon Square this book is full of twists and turns and really gets you thinking! I thought I had worked out the twist a few chapters in and changed my mind several times throughout the book and guess what none of my theories were right in the end! The author really keeps you on your toes and in suspense throughout.
Thoroughly recommend this book however would advise reading Gordon Square prior for some background on the characters to really enjoy the story to its full potential.
The book ends on yet another cliffhanger so suspect volume 3 isn’t too far on the horizon, which I very much look forward to!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great follow up....

Never quite sure if a follow up is going to be as good as the first one but with Arlington Terrace I found a 2nd book in the series that I really enjoyed. Thought I had it all worked out about half way through but the author throws in some great twists and had me guessing right until the end. Looking forward to seeing what happens to Mike and Mel in the next book.

Great second book from Tracy I didn't want to put it down. Continuing on from Gordon Square but even better with more twists and turns. Tracy's writing is excellent and keeps you hooked from the first page. I can't wait for her next book.
  • Review I will!
5.0 out of 5 stars Think you know what comes next? Think again
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 5, 2021
Following on from the first installment, I thought I knew where this book was going. Halfway through I felt I was right. Then everything has changed.
Having read the first book, and starting on this one, I felt that I had a good grip on how this will go. I got halfway through and started to doubt myself. Then in the second half I got completely blown away, but yet again, it seemed that it will all be nicely revealed and closed up at the end, the way my thinking was taking me with the story. Boy was I wrong. Tracy has absolutely outdone herself in this book and I really can't wait for how this will all end. Hope we get some closure in the next book!
