For those of you familiar with my numerous independent MacLomain series, Julie has made several appearances over the years. You may remember her from Viking Heart (Viking Ancestors, Book 3), A Viking Holiday (The MacLomain Series: Viking Ancestors' Kin, Book 2.5) and Destiny's Dragon (The MacLomain Series: Viking Ancestors' Kin, Book 4.5).

For those of you who are new to the MacLomains, it's not necessary to read any of Julie's previous stories to understand this book. She's always been a background character. One who I felt finally deserved her own Happily Ever After.

    Once again we are back with our sexy Scottish MacLomains and my favorite arch-wizards. I always enjoy spending time with them and catching up on what they’ve been doing.

    We met Julie a long time ago it seems, always the bridesmaid and never the bride, so to speak, she’s long looked after the time traveling Broun lasses, but never got a man, or adventure of her own. Will this be her opportunity? Or once again will she be left behind while everyone else finds their HEA? After all she’s not a Broun, just a regular human woman, not a speck of magic to be found.

    Tiernan knows it’s his destiny to meet his Broun lass and continue the history of the Calladagh romances that have brought love and blessings to his clan and country for generations, but his heart is already taken, and he knows it’s real love.

    Can a woman who has dedicated her life to making others dreams come true get her own chance for happiness and time travel? Can a proud warrior forsake his clans destiny and obtain his hearts desire? What happens to Scotland and the future of their clan and country if pre-ordained paths are not followed?     I can not sing the praises of A Scot's Pledge enough! This is book 1 in the End of an Era series. One of my favorite families of all time, the MacLomains are back! Tiernan is the Laird now taking over for his father Adlin. Tiernan like his father is an arch wizard so like generations before it's his turn to find true love and save Scotland from evil.

    Julie has been taking care of the property in New Hampshire and the one in Maine for years so time traveling Broun woman is common place. However, this time around will be brutal to her heart knowing Tiernan will be finding his love match. Over the years she has tried to fight her attraction to the handsome Scotsman.
    Tiernan won't accept any other woman but Julie, his heart won't have it, she isn't a Broun but he doesn't care. Will Tiernan and Julie do what's right for Scotland? Secrets of Julie's ancestry will be answered in this book, sacrifices must be made.

    In typical fashion this newest installment of the series is filled with twists and turns galore! However within these pages are a unique twist. For its NOT a Broun lass intended for Adlin's son. I loved the new themes of magic in this book. Sworn to guard the son of Robert the Bruce we see magic from the original Adlin's time through to current day take place. Weaving within it many souls from the past and present. It will probably make more sense as to who all the players are if you rad the previous books, but I wouldn't say 100% necessary. Just be prepared to be whisked away to Scotland and beyond in a fog of magic, love and Destiny.
