Among the Dead: Part Two: Fear No Evil Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 38 ratings

My name is Sam and I travelled 170 miles to Alice’s home, only to find … only to find my plan was for nothing.

But the world adapts and so must I.

Luckily for me, the apocalypse brings people together. There are other survivors. Communities of people are out there, surviving. People who need my help and trust me. They can help me survive, and even aid my cause going forward.

That is if the undead don’t get me first. Or the collapsed government. Or the rogue military. Or the darkness in the hearts of man. Or even tripping over a rock, knocking myself out and getting eaten while unconscious.

Anything goes at the end of the world.

Among The Dead follows the young, self-proclaimed hero Sam as he leaves his family and the quarantined safety of his city: Bristol. He is searching for the love of his life, Alice, who he lost contact with. He doesn’t even know if she is alive but he has to believe everything will be fine.
The world was barely ending, yet it was already falling apart. The citizens of England are under a martial law, the Government acted like nothing was wrong, violence spread among the cities, and the dead were walking.
Sam will be faced with decisions he could never be prepared for; he will face questions of his own morality. Worst of all, Sam will realise he isn’t the hero of the books and video-games he thought he was. This is the real world. There are monsters walking the streets; living and dead.

Authors Note: This book series will have a lot of content which could be considered "distressing" to some. It will use tropes associated with apocalypse fiction, including violence and abuse on physical and mental level. This will not be the case for every book but, as a series in general, it deals with some very dark themes. Please be aware of this before buying it.

I always enjoyed reading fictional worlds, but creating my own was always my passion. My Year 8 English teacher told me I should pursue writing after a short story I had written for a school project. I don't know where my love of zombies come from, but it just happened, and now it is my life.

Things changed and life moved on, but even while I was graduating from my Bachelors and Masters in Psychology, I still wrote stories and I still loved doing it. Writing is my passion, and everything else I do is a means for me to carry on with that passion.

I’m also prepared to move to a secure location at a zombie’s notice … If you’ve gotten this far, please leave me a review and message me; I love hearing what people think!

I wasn't to into it in the beginning of this series. But the more I kept reading, the more it pulled more me in. I read all three volumes, one right after the other so my review for all three will be the same. This series is good. I need a volume 4. I hate loose ends.

I have to say, I thought there was going to be more women. Sam's interval debate are enlightening as he struggles with keeping his humanity. I look forward to reading more of this storyline.

It has been a joy to follow along with the protagonist, root for him and see the character grow. As I said in my review of Part 1 I can't believe I had slept on this series for so long!

Sam returns to continue his struggle in the zombie apocalypse. This book has a strong host of characters and a realistic approach to situations that could happen within that type of apocalypse. It's good to see the main character develop further while trying to cling to his old self. There is a strong sense of justice and self perseverance throughout that I hope to see with the next book in the series.
