About the authors
Karmen Špiljak is an award-winning author of suspense, horror and speculative fiction, a developmental editor and an Author Accelerator certified book coach for fiction.
Her thriller, 'No Such Thing as Goodbye', was shortlisted and received an honourable mention on 'The Black Spring Crime Fiction Prize 2020'. Her short story collection, 'Add Cyanide to Taste', won the 2022 IndieReader Discovery Award for best short stories. In 2023, LeVar Burton Reads licensed her short story, 'Three Roses', for their podcast. Her collection, 'Pass the Cyanide', won 'The 2023 Wishing Shelf Awards Bronze'.
She currently lives in Belgrade with her husband, two cats and an unknown number of fictional characters.
When Gersh Buck was eleven he decided that it would be cool to write a modern novel in the style of John Wyndham so he started writing stories. Many years later he still thinks it's a cool idea and he's still trying. He writes all sorts but mainly science fiction and/or humour. Check it out and let him know what you think
Benjamin Allen scribbles a lot. He is the author of several short stories you'll never read. Most of them sit in a dusty desk drawer or go straight to the bin.
All the others are available here or online.
Adopted Glaswegian, he's currently working on his second novel while his first one finds a home.
James Hancock
James Hancock is a published author/screenwriter who specialises in bizarre comedy, thriller, horror, sci-fi and twisted fairy tales. He takes readers down strange and seldom trodden paths, often dark, and always with a twist or two along the way. A few of his short screenplays have been made into films, his stories read on podcasts, and he has been published in several print magazines, online, and in anthology books. He lives in England with his wife, two daughters, and a bunch of pets he insisted his girls could NOT have.

4.0 out of 5 stars All Those Things That You Never Thought Mattered
This is a collection of competition entry stories. It's nice to read new and established writers in a different showcase. It's refreshing to know they can get their work 'out there' without having to have an agent or a publisher
