About the author

P.A.Davies was born in Manchester, UK, a city he has lived in and around all his life. He loves Manchester and is proud to be part of the multi-cultural, modern city that houses two Premiership football teams and is the birthplace of many a famous band, such as Oasis, the Stone Roses, Take That and Simply Red.
For most of his life, he has dabbled with writing various pieces - from poems to short fictional stories - but this was always just for fun. However, following advice from a good friend he decided to have a go at writing a novel. Thus, his first novel ‘Letterbox’ was conceived, a fictional take on the infamous IRA bombing of Manchester in 1996. It took him over a year to complete but while doing so, he found it to be one of the most satisfying and interesting paths he had ever followed. It came as no surprise that the writing bug subsequently became firmly embedded within him.
P.A.Davies’ second book - George: A gentleman of the road - was published in May 2013 and is a true story about one of Manchester’s homeless. His third novel - The Good in Mister Philips - is an erotic novel (arguably set to rival Fifty Shades…!) and his fourth - Nobody Heard Me Cry (Dec. 2015) - is again a fact-based tale about Manchester’s darker side. The thriller ‘Absolution’ (Oct. 2017) is his fifth novel.
To label P.A.Davies’ writings would be difficult because his works range from thrillers to touching novels to true-to-life tales embedded in a captivating story, making P.A.Davies an imaginative and versatile storyteller.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2017ABSOLUTION is a cleverly plotted thriller in which we are witness to the atrocities of civil war in the Sudan in the nineties – and go even further back in time to the horrors of WWII which prove to be the ideal foundation for a man’s pure evilness. The various storylines culminate in modern day London, but in what way, we do not know until the very last pages…
After the shocking events in the Prologue, the story developed from a novel within a historical setting to a fast-paced thriller where no one is who he seems and the truth is always lurking somewhere in the shadows. That makes Absolution a multi-layered powerful thriller exploring the harrowing consequences of the atrocities of war and despicable actions, of innocent people finding themselves in situations beyond their control, of keeping your moral integrity whilst in history’s darkest hour. If we keep silent when crimes against humanity are committed, are we not all in need of absolution? If we refuse to interfere when innocent lives are at stake, what does that say about us? This intriguing and compelling novel makes you ponder these issues long after you have closed the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2018The great thriller "Absolution" reminds us what a great evil war is in every country, for any nation and family, for everybody. My country has been suffering from the war for almost 5 years. So I can't even find the right words to describe my thoughts of Mr. Paul's book. I'd better try in Ukrainian if you don't mind:
Thank you Paul!
