Adelaide: Daughter Of The Count | A Clean & Sweet Medieval Romance Novella (House Of Clare Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 16 ratings

Her sweet voice has won his heart. But will another win her hand?

Her sweet voice has caught his attention, and she shares his love of poetry. It should be the perfect match.

But Gilbert is the son of the Chief Justiciar of England, and the business of the land keeps him away for a long time as he deals with rebellions and administers justice in far-flung places. Adelaide wonders if she will ever see him again.

And her father is getting impatient. He wants her to choose a husband, but his choices fail to appeal to her when her heart is already taken. At last, he takes matters into his own hands and chooses for her.

Horrified and desperate, Adelaide flees to the one place she feels safe. But will she find the answers she seeks? Will Gilbert be too late to claim the woman he loves?

Adelaide: Daughter Of The Count is the third book in the House Of Clare series. Read for castles, heroes, villains, and strong women, along with a dose of real history. Above all, it is a sweet story of love that is willing to stare down adversity until it wins. This book can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed as part of the series.

If you enjoy history with a fictional twist, this series and author are well crafted and worth the read.

The author uses historical facts to set her plot and then weaves her tale around the events. The characters deal with life changes that actually happen but come out victorious.

Set in the Anglo- Saxon and Norman struggle in England, there are knights, castles and romance.

When her family goes for a visit to Gilbert's home- his father feels he is ready to marry. Gilbert realizes he would like to make Adelaide his wife but he is called away to help his father before any plans are settled.

Adelaide's heart has chosen Gilbert but her father is impatient to set her up with a rich husband and picks a man who is rude and treats her like merchandise. Adelaide and Gilbert belong together, but circumstances and timing, and her father may keep them apart. Good story that is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

A good story with an overall good plot. I thought the details were a little thin in areas. This was the first book I've read by Kaitlyn Clarkson and I will definitely read more.

This story follows the last story! I really really enjoy Caitllynn's Medevil stories. Rohesiah was the last story in this series and she turns out to be Gilbert our hero's mother. I have read other Medevil stories and they were more about war and dieing. I highly recommend this story.

An intriguing story set over 1,000 years. It was a teenage love story with a very willful young woman who is quite determined to marry for love and an honorable young man. The story might have been more believable had it been set 300 years ago when society had a different mindset about the rights of women. The characters are likeable enough though and it was a pleasant enough read.
