4.3 out of 5 stars 386 ratings

Getting involved with your dad’s best friend is always off-limits. Too bad Cooper has no problem pushing limits. Cooper Scott is a snarky twink with no filter. He has big plans for a successful future and falling for his dad’s best friend is NOT on the agenda. No worries, they’ll just keep it casual. Jesse Thompson is a widower and new father at the age of fifty. The offer of help from his best friend’s son should have sent Jesse running. Instead, he finds himself in a predicament he’s spent his life avoiding. Will Cooper and Jesse end up in a heartbroken crash-and-burn situation? Or can love overcome all and give them a happily ever after?
**Adore is a steamy, age-gap, bi-awakening, dad’s best friend M/M romance with a sassy smartass and a sexy silver fox. It’s the first book in the Remington Place series and can be read as a stand-alone.**

Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional M/M romance.

A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.

She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.

A.D. uses she/they pronouns.

    Four and a half stars

Adore is the first in AD Ellis’s Remington Place series, and is a m/m, bi-awakening, age gap, father’s best friend, nanny-employer romance. Jesse is newly returned to town, a recent widower and raising his granddaughter on his own. Cooper is his best friend’s son, half his age, and saving his bacon by stepping up as his nanny as he gets his feet and garage business back under himself.

AD Ellis does a great job of Jesse and Cooper’s growing friendship and more, and the supporting cast are also well drawn and provide a warm community. A great read and excellent start to the series.

This is a very sweet book. I surprised myself by buying something that had a family mentioned in it but, to be honest, I saw 'bisexual' and 'age gap' and 'father's best friend' in the Amazon tags and my pervy mind said, "you must buy this."

I got the family, Hadley is 5 and her mother and grandmother both died several years ago in a car accident and her grandfather, Jesse, is raising her. The thing that played with my head is he calls himself her daddy. He's really her grandfather so... I didn't understand that. I just felt weird about it, but I don't want to labour that point. It's really neither here nor there, just a personal preference thing.

There is an age gap between Jesse (50) and Cooper (25) and I liked that. I'm usually up for age gap books. They were good together and I liked how Cooper had the attitude to get Jesse onboard with a friends with benefits, no mess relationship. That he respectfully taught Jesse how to have sex with a man. That Jesse didn't wig out that he liked men, had known it before but never had the opportunity to explore it until Cooper.

I'm really not the primary market for this, outside of the fact it's in my gay romance reading world. I usually like darker, meatier books, but I found this to be happy and nice. The characters are all kind people with good intentions, even if Cooper's dad can really get talking about weird shit with his friend - 'are you bi, or pan, it's all good, just get out there and enjoy yourself with whomever you want to do that with, men, women, did I mention men?' (Me paraphrasing) I don't see that conversation going on between two 50 year old men. And then Robbie uses the word dick in relation to his son and his sex life with his best friend Jesse. Just no, not in a sweet book. But it is funny in a weird way.

Bev is the owner of Remington Place. It's a house where she takes in younger boarders and gives them a reasonable rent, sage advice, and good food - that woman can cook a casserole or ten - and guidance. It's a safe place. The young people are all decent and supportive and poke a bit of fun at each other as well. It really does give it that feel good vibe.

Overall, Adore is a ray of sunshine. I read it at night in bed while I was in the middle of reading some angsty, drama-filled books and I found this to be a happy little filler. If you're looking for sweet and sexy, ignore the cover, maybe give this a try.

I really enjoyed this sweet story as the relationship between Jesse and Cooper developed. I liked how neither character was perfect but they were perfect for each other.

Jesse is a single dad/grandfather to Hadley. Cooper is "the boy next door".
Not entirely wholesome and is putting innuendos in conversation.
They strike an unusual bargain. Not telling you more, you gotta read it!

When 25 year old Cooper spots a new handsome, older man moving in next door, he is attracted. Turns out, the yummy new guy is his father's best friend, Jesse, returning to his hometown to raise his 5 year old daughter alone. Cooper offers a "no strings, see if you like, arrangement". Jesse agrees and things heat up.This is a low angst sweet read that does not disappoint.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Remington Place series! The chemistry between Cooper and Jesse was smoldering from the beginning, and the love scenes were super spicy (which was my favorite part). The writing was easy to read but not overly simplistic, and the story kept a really steady pace. I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Jesse and Cooper
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 28, 2021
Dad's best friend, who is a hot silver fox. Jesse moved back to his home town with his granddaughter, after the tragic death of his wife and daughter.
Cooper notices the neighbour and could not resist instant lust.
As a pre school student, it was a perfect opportunity to offer help. It was no longer Coop thinking about Jess, but the feeling was mutual.
They formed an easy friend ship, then Coop threw a spanned in the works . One that was irresistible. For an age gap romance, this was so sweet and we'll written. They just needed to talk more and not over think. The romance 🔥 hot. The supporting cast made the story come to life especially Bev and the granddaughter.
Also the way Cooper's condition was handled, showed the research done. It not make a big deal out of it.
    Really good read.

Unfortunately this came across as mildly interesting but more boring, I was upset as it had what I love, age gap and gay for you, I was so disappointed that it didn't quite thrill me, I did read it all though. I class this author as well respected and well written, I feel a little guilty for not getting it this time.

Honestly this book was a bit all over the place for me. Obvious story, drab dialog and oddly paced. Overall it was just very middle of the road and I'm unsure i'll remember it in a few days.

This was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Great characters (main and side), hot sex, and the expected catching of feelings. Lovely.
