Overview

Just because she's dead, it doesn't mean that things are over. Not for KJ. Not for anyone. She must navigate the afterlife to her unnamed and unknown destination, relying on her pagan ethics, her grave goods, and the strangers she meets along the way:

The Christian who died with her, who shares an afterlife but only wants to find God and Heaven.

The knight who has guided this journey for centuries, battling his own doubts as he fights to protect his wards.

The lost soul who hungers for things he doesn't understand.

Be careful. Just because you're dead, that doesn't mean they can't destroy you.

The journey begins with the last breath.

Beyond life, beyond love, beyond our last heartbeat, there is a perilous road we all must take.

About the Author

Kamila Zeman Miller lives on five acres in the Columbia River Gorge, where she gardens, raises small livestock and paints in her so-called copious spare time. She has a background in physics and engineering at Oregon State University, and studied horticulture at Mt. Hood Community College. Her father carefully gave her an art education without seeming to interfere. An experienced project engineer, musician and classically-trained artist who graduated from Charles University in Prague, Miroslav Zeman was one of the greatest influences in Kami's artistic and intellectual life. Her husband, Rory Miller, is an expert in conflict communications, violence dynamics and other scary stuff. He's been responsible for keeping her healthy, happy, safe, and keeps her mind lively. Their two children are in college studying very cool stuff.

Kami has traveled to Belize, Canada, Ireland, the Czech Repulic and other places in the world. She also enjoys belly dance, fantasy literature, and attends the occasional SF/F/H convention.

Kami blogs at kzmillers.blogspot.com. She'd love to have you friend her on facebook, but be sure to include a message with your request that you read her book or met her in person somewhere, so she knows you're a real person and not an evil zombie spam bot.
