    This is a novella, which readers should keep in mind when reading. It’s harder to fully develop characters in this shorter form, especially if you spend part of that time with sex scenes (there are two in this story). Liz did this fairly well (better with Griffin than Autumn, I felt). Also in a novella, it’s best to have only one or two major events going on. This one had several (including a ‘grand plan’ to turn the land into a veteran’s retreat/camp), which maybe was a little too much because it called more attention to the shortness. Also, it needed an edit (at least twice, a conversation took place in one chapter only to appear almost verbatim in a future chapter). Had that not been an issue it would have been a 4-star read.

    Autumn is reeling from getting divorced and losing her grandmother, returning home to rest and recuperate she bumps into Griffin, her first love. What are the feelings between them? Are they still angry with each other or is the chemistry still there and hiding? This novella was a wonderful short read that wetted my appetite for more!
