Just Another Silly Love Song Kindle Edition
Two rival radio personalities. Lori Martin is a positive and upbeat DJ, known for playing love songs and dedications. Ben Baxter dishes out no-nonsense, in-your-face relationship advice. Total opposites. Never in a million years would they want to work together.
Fired for losing her cool after her boyfriend breaks up with her on the air, Lori surprisingly receives a job offer for the coveted morning show at the radio station across town where Ben works. She thinks she’s replacing him, but finds out they want to team up Lori with her archenemy to set the air waves on fire and boost ratings. Financially strapped, she can’t turn down the job.
While their on-air fireworks and explosive chemistry make for great listening, what in the world will happen after work hours?

- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2020I’ve yet to read a Rich Amooi novel that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy, and Just Another Silly Love Song is no exception! There’s nothing better than two characters who come together in an opposites attract scenario, and that’s surely the case for Lori and Ben. But what’s even better, is discovering that the two main characters who think they have nothing in common, have a lot more in common than they could ever imagine.
I loved the conversations and downright banter between these two. I felt like I was listening in on a real-life radio station’s program, and we get to learn so much more into who Lori and Ben are, not only as a potential couple but separately, as individuals. Lori comes off as an incredibly happy person, who doesn’t let a single thing get her down, while Ben is a lot more cynical and doesn’t believe in happily-ever-after. Yet further reading proved that they meet somewhere in the middle, and perceptions couldn’t be further from the truth. It was fun to witness that discovery on my own, and to see this couple discover that for themselves, too.
While I very much appreciated the chemistry between Lori and Ben, I loved the other characters who are key players, like Lori’s grandma Joyce, and Ben’s grandpa Wayne. It turns out that Joyce becomes the catalyst for a lot that happens within this story, and it was so sweet to see her looking for love with Wayne. It was like getting two love stories for the price of one, and it was interesting to see two paralleling mature experiences, showcasing that it doesn’t matter your age where love is concerned.
Much like in the real world, simple lack of communication and assumption can wreak havoc on a budding relationship, and I wasn’t sure at first what would happen and where this story would go, if anyone would end up together or if all of it would fall apart. But what I saw was the perseverance for all involved, no matter the outcome, and I really appreciated that kind of outlook. There is a lot of spunk and fantastic scenarios and even better characters, that made Silly Love Song a five-star read for me!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2020Rich is a wonderful writer of light romantic comedy. After I read one of his books, I was surprised that a man wrote such a funny romance book. I love his style and the relationships of his characters. This book was funny and Grandma Joyce is a hoot.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2020Highly recommended as a “Just-Let-It-Go” romance comedy novel. 4.5 * for Just Another Silly Love Song - another lighthearted and enjoyable novel by Rich Amooi. Perfect for when readers simply want to escape for a few hours.
I thoroughly enjoyed Rich Amooi’s latest standalone romance comedy novel Just Another Love Song, in the Enemies to Lovers trope category. The main characters are two established radio personalities, Lori and Ben, who are working together as cohosts on a talk show program. Lori and Ben don’t particularly get along and their personalities conflict, resulting in on-air “zinger” comments and snarky comebacks. I snickered my way through Just Another Silly Love Song and recommend this book to readers who enjoy light romance novels, romantic comedies, and/or books that make you smile and feel good when you are finished. JASLS reads quickly and ends with a sweet HEA.
Reader Cautions - Very Few. Just Another Silly Love Song is appropriate for nearly all readers except those that would be offended by the following -
Profanity - perhaps once.
Violence - none.
Sexual situations - very brief mention of past partners, IMO no more reference than in a PG-13 movie.
Just Another Silly Love Song was a delightfully sweet story. Prepare to de-stress, smile, and have a good time.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2025From the very beginning I laughed. When Lori and Ben have to work together it really gets hysterical. The way they work off of each other is just the funniest thing I've ever heard. I could picture myself in the radio station.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2020Great little read. Two DJs (Ben and Lori) banter during their show. Ben is a no-nonsense, tell it like it is and Lori is a romantic and dedicates love songs to her listeners. She loses her jobs and applies for a morning DJ show at other radio station thinking she is replacing the current DJ (Ben) but is informed she will be his co-host. Ben's ratings need improving since his audience is male dominant. Kyle, his boss, tells him they need some female callers and thus brings in a co-host. Things get crazy when they try to outdo each other with stabs, putdowns, etc. and give their own advice to the caller. I couldn't stop laughing at the exchange of words between the two. Add in her Grandmother who thinks Ben is hot and wants her granddaughter to become his girlfriend. If you want a fun read, suggest reading this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2020Im not really good at writing reviews. First, words
Escape me. Second, i hate writing about what happens in the book. I just really want to say how i liked it and how it made me feel, but amazon requires a higher word count. So i usually just give it as many stars as i feel are fair and move on. But i have to say, i had a smile on my face the whole
Time i was reading this book. Then i would laugh really loud. My husband would just looked at me funny. Loved the banter, the sense of humor and the light hearted theme. Im going to have to start reading all his books.

Each one is a warm paean to relationships based on affection and high moral values. Bring a smile to your day with any of them; he has an oeuvre that works every time. This one, a story of battling radio romance advisors is charming.
