Amelia's Blessed Christmas: A Clean Mail Order Bride Holiday Romance (Brides Of Weber Valley Book 6) Kindle Edition

3.6 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

Ogden, Utah Territory – 1876

A recent widow, young Amelia Hawkins leaves behind her life of bereavement and bad memories to travel west to live with Mr. Percy Andrews, a friendly and caring general store owner who is well-liked by everyone in the town of Ogden. From their very first meeting at the railway station, she is taken by his kindness and gentle nature and knows that God has blessed her with a second chance at happiness.

That calm and peaceful feeling doesn’t last very long, as the horrors of her past begin to creep back into her life in the form of bad dreams. Her fears and anxieties begin to consume her and Amelia begins to doubt herself and, in turn, begins to doubt her future with Mr. Andrews.

When Christmas arrives, she feels increasingly out of sorts and ill. Her good-natured friend Mrs. Tabitha Hughes implores her to go visit the doctor in town who informs her of the cause of her symptoms and Amelia is then convinced that she must leave at once and stop wasting Percy’s time.

Will Amelia become consumed by the memories of the past? Or will Percy’s tender warmth and kindness be enough to calm the fears that have been haunting her once and for all?

Can you even begin to imagine the mental pain Amelia went through in her first marriage? I can, some men just don't deserve the women they marry. This made her feel so low about herself, she had no confidence and needed assurance every step of the way.

The mercantile owner had the patience of a saint, he was so tender and caring with Amelia. It was beautiful to watch their relationship grow. Then a huge problem surfaces, what will Amelia do? Will she run away or stay and fight to have a great marriage?

If you want to find out what happened to this couple please get the book and read it for yourself. I'm sure you will enjoy how Amelia overcomes all that happened to her.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher and the above comments are my own opinions.

This was my favorite story of the series. Amelia has been corresponding to the store owner in Ogden, decides to come to Ogden and marry him. Her past has made it hard for her to trust and have faith in herself. I love how much patients and understanding Percy has for Amelia. How the story ends is a blessing for both Amelia and Percy. I definitely would read this story again.

Another great read from the Brides Of Weber Valley and Charity Phillips. Amelia is a widow and she has bee corresponding with Percy Andrews in Ogden. She is honest with him, tells him what her first marriage is like.

Percy still wants her to come ad be his wife. He is the owner of the mercantile I town. They are both happy with each other her for his kindness her for him the way she cares for people.

She does have doubt and her self esteem gets low at times. Can Percy make her happy and show her how special she really is?

Loved the characters they were well done and I liked seeing the interaction with them. The reader will love this couple ad the town.

I received a copy of this book for review consideration

Good reading about a young couples child that was due around Christmas. This was a collection of stories about people finding real love after traveling across this great country. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from Amazon at a special price and from a delightful author who keeps me wondering what next for the characters .Loved the entire book.

Charity has given us another absolutely wonderful story. Amelia had been downtrodden in an extremely psychologically abusive marriage. Now that she is a widow she comes to Ogden hoping for something different. She must take the time to heal. Amelia finds a not all marriages were like the one she escaped and has a truly blessed Christmas with a special gift of Faith. I loved this book as I have loved and fully enjoyed all of Charity's stories and highly recommend them, each and every one, but I think this is my favorite. I received this ARC book for review consideration.

A sweet story that's goes right to the heart. Amelia, a young widow, has had a rough turn that has left her with emotional wounds. She's giving marriage a second chance with a man she's been writing with. Percy is a blessing alone and it's beautiful to see how Amelia comes into her own. A lovely story that will make a reader smile. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
