Barritt Firth writes post-apocalyptic and dystopian fiction about ordinary people facing extraordinary collapse. His stories explore the thin line between survival and surrender, and what still matters when the world falls apart.

His novels Angels Burn and After God examine what happens when society fractures—and what rises from the ruins. Both are available now.

Launching June 2025, the Our Broken Planet Series (Our Broken Family, Our Broken City, Our Broken Bonds, Our Broken Skies) follows the Bond family and the violent cult calling itself Our Family through the wreckage of a devastated Portland, Oregon—after the EMP and the Great Quakes reshape the land, and what's left of humanity. Gritty, emotional, and grounded in truth, the series is a love letter to resilience in a broken world.

Barritt has been a CEO, a chemist, and an entrepreneur. Now he tells stories about how we live, love, break, and survive when everything else is gone.

Also—those yellow driving glasses in the photo? Barritt found them. If they’re yours, let him know. The picture might embarrass someone special, but it doesn’t embarrass him.

Angels Burn is a classic fight between good and evil while addressing thought-provoking social issues as the plot ramps up to its heart-pounding conclusion.

There's romance between Mila and Garrett and intriguing relationships between three best friends as they struggle to decide between duty and their attachment to each other. It's fun to watch the interactions between Diabliss and Mila change as conditions grow ever more dire.

Are the blackwings bad? Are the angels of the White Light good? It's a great portrayal of how fanatics can lead people into evil acts and of the wisdom of questioning everything. It left me thinking about the issues we're facing today.

This book was a suprisingly good read resonating with common theories and biases. Firth delivers good characters on both sides of the plot and leaves you rooting for not just the main character. The romance between the protagonist and main character is very intresting and fun to watch play out. Overall Firth delivers great and relatable characters and a story that keeps you wanting more after reading the book. I recommend this for anyone ages 13+.

This book has an expertly woven world and a premise that keeps you guessing. Who really pulls the strings when the world goes bad? Who can you really trust for help? Are either of those groups who you think they are? The main character Mila faced these questions and more, which kept me turning the pages for the answers.

I loved this book, it’s a really interesting take on religion and the way disingenuous forces can manipulate others into actions they wouldn’t normally take. Definitely worth the read.

The adventure and characters got me hooked, but the story kept me thinking well after I had finished. I’m looking forward to reading more by Firth!
