Arrange Me: a married-at-first-sight romance (The Arranged Duo Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 1,278 ratings

An Amazon Top-100 Bestseller!

My name is Courtney Jane Salinger...
and I'm sick of games.

Sick of the Friday night bar-scene/meat-market.
Sick of the boy-girl, man-woman, mars-venus, flirtation-without-expectation, game-playing nonsense.
Sick of awful dates and one-night stands, booty calls and guys who don’t call back, mixed messages or NO messages and—and—and...I'm sick of
all of it.

I’m done.
I just can't do it anymore.
It's too hard, and worse: little by little, it's making
me hard.
It's breaking my heart.

What
do I want?
That's easy.

I want a house in suburbia with a white picket fence.
I want babies to buckle into a minivan.
But most of all, I want to be married.
I want a husband.

So I've made an important decision: I'm making my escape from the dating world and the single life.
I've filled out my application on ArrangeMe.com and I'm putting my fate into the hands of experts.

Is it a little scary?
Sure.
I mean, I have no idea who I'll end up with.
After all, I'm planning to marry a complete stranger.

But between you and me?
I can't wait.

Being arranged can't possibly be worse than being single.
Can it?

ARRANGE ME is a standalone read with an interesting ending. As this is the prequel to Arrange US, the ending is just the beginning. There are sexy scenes if that is an issue for you. The story starts in New York where Courtney, 30 has decided she is tired of dating guys that she doesn't want a future with for one reason or another. She has decided to go to the matching site she has seen on TV. A lot like Married at first Site. She is determined to find a husband and start a life. She has investigated every angle and thinks this is the best way for her and her future.

Every Friday after work she and her best friend go to the same bar for drinks and to wind down. Her friend usually goes home with someone else, but Courtney goes home alone. Their favorite bartender is always working and knows and flirts with both, but it never goes anywhere.

Josh is a playwriter in the making. He has finished college and is working on his first play. He knows it may be years before he hits it big IF he ever does. He never dates customers as he is on a path and has a plan and it doesn't include a serious relationship. He can barely afford his own expenses and certainly cannot afford a wife. He stays single. He is attracted to Courtney, but he won't let himself let her know.

Courtney comes from a family with money. She is used to the finer things in life. She doesn't have a good relationship with her parents. They are way too busy to deal with a child, an only child, so she was raised to be self-sufficient. She graduated college and has a great job. She makes in the 6 figures. This is when she declares she is going to go to a matchmaker and start the rest of her life.

Josh doesn't want to get married, but he doesn't want to lose Courtney either. He is between a rock and a hard place. He has nothing to offer a wife, but he can't bare thinking of her being with another guy. He is unsure what to do as he really only knows Courtney on a superficial level. The matchmakers have found her a perfect match.

This is an interesting beginning to their story. There has got to be storms ahead for these two. Since I always buy Ms. Regnery's books, I'll be waiting on the full-length story. It is going to be a good one as one learns that choices in life have consequences. Looks to be a good story. I definitely recommend reading this book to be ready for the big one.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer, nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am not a bot. I am a reader, and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/28/2023.

I’ve long found arranged marriages fascinating, and when I heard about Arrange Me, I knew I had to read it. Arrange Me was a sweet beginning to what promises to be a captivating love story, and I can’t wait to see how things work out for Courtney and her man in the next book, Arrange Us. I had, for the most part, figured out what was going to happen in this story before the end of chapter one, but I still enjoyed the ride.

While I did like Courtney, I often found her singlemindedness frustrating. She seemed to be so focused on a single outcome she couldn’t see what was going on right in front of her. I know we’re all guilty of it, but, man, there were several times I just wanted to shake her! I will give her credit for going after what she wanted and not settling for anything less, though. Despite how hard she was on herself, she seemed to have an inner strength that served her well as she was going after her goals. I can’t wait to see how she manages all of the unknowns of her new life as her story continues.

I have a couple of wishes for this novel. The first was a scene that I was desperately looking forward to, that was skipped over. I’m hoping there will be a flashback to that scene in the next book, because I felt let down by its exclusion, right now. The second was a single line when one of the narrators breaks the ‘fourth wall,’ I always find that jarring and bizarre, and I wish the line had been changed or just deleted.

Arrange Me is the first book in Katy Regnery’s Arranged Duo. The books are one continuous story written in two volumes and must be read in order. Arrange Me is written in dual first-person perspective.

I hate giving 3 stars for this book, but when the book starts off and gets good and then hits perfectly for the wedding and after that I didn't like one issues /disaster due to added in patents or ex girlfriends just to make it a cliffhanger. So not a fan of them, but if that's your cup of tea then go for it. I feel like this book had do much more potential and it could of been one heck of a story.

I am a reality tv fan and as soon as I saw the premise for this book I couldn’t wait to start reading. Arrange Me takes the idea of a show like married at first sight and runs wild with it.

“I’m getting married tomorrow. I just wanted you to know.”
I hit “Send,” then clutch my phone to my breast with white knuckles. It buzzes a moment later.
“Beautiful. Smart. Funny. Kind…and brave. He’s the luckiest guy in the world,”

Courtney is tired of the dating scene and wants to fast track to her white picket fence hea dream. She signs up with Arrange Me dot com to set that in motion, but not everyone is on her side in this endeavor.

The story is sweet, fun and completely entertaining. As book one in a duet, this book leaves us with a cliffy ending and I can’t wait to read more.

It was not at all what I expected but it was really good. The plot is very different yet there is such a nice flow to the story that you'll love it. But I must confess I have mixed feelings about reading the sequel but that could be just me. If you live a sweet romance then go for this!

    Kate Regnery never disappoints.
I have read at least ten of her novels and find her characters believable and oh so human. Each situation is unique but she can tie family stories together so that they overlap seamlessly.

I love the difference in this arranged marriage. Both have a connection to each other and yet want to move at different paces. Josh though, takes a leap.

I can't wait to see what happens next!
