When Ava & Oliver’s Sunday school teacher informs the class that real animals will be used in the seasonal Nativity play, the children can barely contain their excitement. Can it be true?
Animals can be unpredictable so how will these ones behave?
Buster, the dog doesn’t seem to be at all phased by the new additions to his life. As long as he is with his best friends he is happy!
Will all go to plan or will there be some mishaps along the way?
Will Bertie, the parrot behave himself? Who knows! One thing is for sure. Ava & Oliver will join in the fun and have a wonderful time.
The children make new animal friends in this lovely Christmas story that children will enjoy again and again.
Beautifully illustrated throughout, this book is suitable for early readers or as a bedtime story read by parents or older siblings.
This is the second book in the Ava & Oliver adventure series. The first book has attracted very positive feedback from schoolchildren.

About the author

Award winning author Dawn Brookes holds an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction. She is the author of three cozy mystery/crime fiction series:
The Rachel Prince Mysteries combines a unique blend of murder, cruising and medicine with a touch of romance. Carlos Jacobi PI and his ex-cadaver dog, work alongside Fiona Cook, a troubled, but likeable detective.
The Lady Marjorie Snellthorpe Mysteries are published by Storm Publishing. The series stars four octogenarians who prove that age is just a number when it comes to solving crime.
Dawn worked in the NHS England for 39 year nursing. Nowadays, she loves cruise holidays and says she should do more for research purposes!
She has also penned a series of nursing memoirs covering her training days in the 1970s & early 1980s. Growing up in Leicester, Dawn later moved to Waterloo in Belgium, London, Berkshire and now Derbyshire. When she's not cruising, she loves nothing more than putting her feet up and reading a good book.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2018I purchased this book for my six year old granddaughter who was going to be participating in a live nativity. I skimmed the book and boy I was glad I did. They talked about a baby calf being in the nativity scene, and one of the kids asked "Do we eat baby cows?" "Oh yes", said the mom, "It's called veal." "Well I'm never eating veal again!" exclaimed the child. I was shocked to see something like that in a children's book about the Nativity, or any child's book for that matter. I returned it immediately.
