About the authors
Emma is the #1 Amazon Bestselling Author of angsty, dark MM paranormal, scifi, and contemporary series including Incubus, DeMMonica Paint, Lies, and Malthusia.
Born in Hungry Bottom (yes, it's a real place) as an unexpected twin, she was destined to be a little different!
She loves putting damaged, often sweet and funny characters through hell before letting them have a well-earned HFN or HEA,
Writing sci-fi, paranormal, and contemporary romance with m/m, m/f, and multiple partner characters, she concentrates on men who love men these days. She blames her rebellious muse (who looks like Chris from the Paint Series) for the hot aspects tickling the angst, and the humor cuddling up with the hotness.
To keep up with her spicy, quirky imagination, and get a free book, look here: https://BookHip.com/RRZTP
She always answers questions and comments from readers, so feel free to get in touch.
E is the alter ego of Emma Jaye. While Emma concentrates on men who love men, E sticks to feisty ladies and their often confused but always devoted guys.
E spends her days trying to fight off Emma's attempt to add gay or bisexual side characters into her m/f or m/f/m stories but doesn't always succeed.
Expect high angst, steam, and eventual HEA.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2013This book is steamy sitting in a sauna after soaking in a hot tub hot!! It should definitely come with a few warning labels. But that's just the cherry on top of a deeper story. Gwen's longing to be seen as more than just an object to be used compelled me to be invested in her. Sometimes I got frustrated with her thinking she was weak when she had the power to bring those vamps to their knees. But considering all her life she had been groomed to be nothing more than that made me ache for her and empathize with her. The introduction of a hot rogue vamp turned up the book to whole new level. When he reveals things about who she really is it turns things upside down and has me anticipating the next book. I highly recommended this read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2013I got a free copy from the author for honest review. Seriously this story is hot. Josie (Gwen) is a very likable person. Gwen comes to terms what she's been told all her life. I really like this steamy story couldn't wait for Gwen's story to continue.

Imagine being lied to your whole life, by the people who are supposed to care about you. Now knowing if anything you do know about yourself is even true. Meet Gwen Jones, a latent vampire. She doesn’t crave blood, she doesn’t have any fangs – latent it must be and she goes with it. Because all her life she has been told that. Gwen is the latent for a Clan of vampires. She keeps them from going after the human’ s and harming them. And she enjoys it too! But she wants more, she wants to experience life outside of the Clan, the men, and the walls of her home.
Gwen persuades the Clan leader, Blair to let her have a job in town. Just a simple part time job, so she can have something of her own. To be something other than a sex goddess. Then she meets Lucas, who she thinks in another latent vampire. But he talks to her, he tells her things. Could they be true? Or is he lying? Who is lying to her?
While I did enjoy the plot and story line, I did feel that some parts of the book were a little over detailed, I skimmed those parts. Gwen frustrated me throughout the book with her mind set. I’m to weak, I’m helpless. She had the power all along to control the vampires. I wish she could have seen her potential in that aspect. Then I think, she was treated as a sex goddess from day one, she knows no difference. This is the way she was raised, Blair wanted her a specific way and that was how it was. End of story. Lucas, I’m not sure about him. He seemed all too willing to give into the sex trade, I mean I know they have to eat, but c’mon. Shouldn’t he have talked to those involved before offering them up?
I would have liked some more background on Ulrich and some of the other vamps. Hopefully later. Or even how Alec ended up with the ‘latent’?
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2017As with all of Emma Jaye's books, I feel like I know what I'm getting into when I start, but am quickly proven wrong. Gwen, a "latent" vampire is being held by a colony of vampires in Scotland. She serves as their "sex toy" to quote her. And while some aspects of it, she seems to mind tremendously, others seem to fill her with a sense of purpose. She likes helping others. She likes taking care of others and as a result, she's managed to form some friendships that will eventually serve her well. But her world isn't always one of pleasure. Treated as an outcast, the lowed member of the group, many of her hours are lonely and filled with pain - some physical, some emotional - and ridicule.
Then she meets Lucas. An Incubus who has been searching for Gwen (Josie) for years. And when he tells her all about her true identity and nature, her world will never be the same.
Jaye's story is unique and even though Gwen's world has never been mine, I found myself relating and empathizing with her character. We see her world from many angles and the comparisons to the cruelty of our world did not go missed. I loved this story. Couldn't put it down once I began it and I've already started the next one in the series. Emma Jaye is one authors that are an automatic one-click for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2015I devoured this book in one sitting, that’s how much I love it! Before I delve in deeper, let me say that this book contain dark themes so it may not be suitable for everyone.
We’re firstly introduced to Gwen, a latent vampire but was in fact, a succubus that was kidnapped at a very young age. She longed for a life outside of her clan and was finally granted the permission to work part time at a nearby shop and that’s where she met Lucas, another succubus himself. Their encounters would initiate a series of event that’s going to affect both the demon and vampire clans.
First off, I love the world building and the way the readers are being introduced to this world without being overly heavy. Throughout the story, the author nicely weaved in some information about the hierarchy system, the council, latent renting system and even the relationship development between human, vampire and other supernatural forces and I enjoyed reading every bit of it. Trust me, it is no easy feat but Emma nicely pulled it off with a good balance between being both informative and entertaining at the same time. The sex scenes are HOT HOT HOT. Gwen works as a sex therapist for the clan members and this book have pretty much a few kinks which could easily satisfy the reader. You have the normal sex, bondage, fantasy play and even cute scenes involving her and young inexperience vampires. Also, Lucas is easily my favorite. I’ve always have a soft spot for tortured character that still have the strength to put on a smile and Lucas is just someone who I want nothing but good things to happen to him from now onwards.
Without spoiling much, I truly do enjoy the story and how it progressed until the last page whereby the chain of events inadvertently leading to something bigger affecting both races. This book is part of a trilogy so don’t expect everything to wrap up by Book 1.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well-written and intriguing opening to the series.
Gwen believes she is a “latent” vampire, that’s all she has been told since she’s been old enough to understand. Abandoned by her parents and passed from one vampire clan to another she’s now old enough to be purchased by a clan in the Highlands of Scotland and here she will earn her keep by being the sexual plaything of the male vampires in the clan. But sometimes the truth isn’t what we believe iut to bee and Gwen’s attempt to lead a “normal” life by getting a part-time job in the local village sets in train a series of events that will change her life forever.
Emma Jaye does a good job of making Gwen a deeper and more sympathetic character than other authors would have managed. We see Gwen trying to keep her vampires happy, even the ones who have particularly evil streaks. Writing erotica where one character isn’t always a willing participant is difficult but Jaye does this well and the sudden conflict that arises when Gwen meets Lucas throws the novel into a new dimension.
A well-written and intriguing opening to the series.
