    This is the first book in a new series called The Lost Dragon Prince's. It is a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged throughout the whole story. There's action, adventure, fighting, loyalty, magic, intrigue, kidnapping, mystery, traitor, trust, wars between clans, politics, romance, passion/lust and love.
    This is the story about rock star who happens to be half vampyr and Dragon and is a secret assassin. Th heroine is the First General to a Dragon Nation and someone wants her dead. The hero is tasked to kidnap the heroine until he receives more orders. Why does someone want to kill her? Is the hero one of the lost prince's that disappeared at birth?

    I think the Powyrworld books are going to require quite a bit of suspension of disbelief, but if you just relax and go with it, this first book in the series certainly made for fun, light reading. There are so many vampire and shifter books these days, it is always nice to find a new take on the genre, and this book did present some unusual twists. I'm looking forward to discovering more about the world in subsequent books.

    As for the romance between Calla and Mateo, that was fun. I liked that our heroine was First General in the Dragon Court and a powerful warrior. Although she was surprisingly dense a couple of times, I think that could have been plausible and did not rise to the level of "too stupid to live." Mateo was also an interesting character and I hope we get to see more of him in future books.

    I noticed a few typos and grammar errors, but not too many. Formatting was fine. There is some sex and violence, but I don't recall too much profanity. Overall, I would rate this 3.5 stars and consider it possibly recommended for those who enjoy shifter stories and other paranormal romance.

Mateo wants to spend time with her on her Island where he has just finished a concert, but things are not what they seem. Mateo is a more than he pretends, he kidnaps Calla and when she awakens to find that she is being held and in America she is shocked. Mateo is the one who gets a rude awakening and that changes everything. A entertaining romance adventure with a major twist. Excellent characters. I purchased this book.     I liked the concept of Dragons and magic. I just felt the world building was rushed and left huge gaps. The dragon court war for example wasn't really explained nor was the family reconciliation at the end believable. So all their previous assassinations were forgiven? Dubious.

This story took me on an adventure fraught with danger and intrigue. Calla is a warrior woman the First General to Delphina and Pythian the dragon leaders, they are at war and have been since the clutch was stolen away making their queen known as the Mad Queen can't say that i blame her if my babies were stolen away I'd probably be the same way. Mateo the rock star who also happens to be a vampyr belonging to a cognate of assassins also gets quite a surprise during his latest assignment where he kidnaps Calla and is supposed to kill her nah it doesn't happen.

    That is just the opener for this romantic whodunit. I hope I can follow this series as I want to know more about the Mad Queen and her stolen clutch, who started the war and how it ends.

    Dragon Star is a quick and enjoyable read.  It has vivid imagery that allowed me to get lost in the story.  It has intrigue, action, and romance that is entertaining.  Mateo is dissatisfied with his life, but is bound by loyalty.  Calla has devoted her life to her career, and wonders whether it is too late for more.  When their paths cross, their lives are forever changed.  I appreciated the strength and vulnerability of these characters. I adored the dynamic between them, as well as the progression of their relationship.  Definitely worth the read; looking forward to the other books in the series.

    I love new PNR series—especially ones that are attached to Emma Alisyn! Her characters come to life in ways that make you want to love them or hate them, trust them, or act against them because you know that they are scoundrels. While the story arc centers around 5 stolen royal dragonlings, this story’s couple is Mateo, a vampire, mage, spy, and assassin who “moonlights” as a rock star as the front for the vampires he thinks he belongs to initially, and Calla, First General to "The Mad Queen" and her King. I felt bad for the Queen in this story. I also I kinda wish that Mateo Guerin was real cuz, despite the confusion that lies within; he’s pretty hot and quite crafty. There's also a looming mystery as to why the dragonlings were stolen and allowed to live? I like that little quirk that was thrown in about male dragons and their first Heat. That’s something you don’t see in a story. I’ll be starting the second book VERY soon!

    This story has a brilliant twist on Vampyr / Dragon lore, set in a world that is ours but not.
    Mateo is a rock god, but he is also a vampyr part of a cognate, hired assassins. He is tasked with kidnapping and then killing Calla.
    This is not going to go to plan though, as soon as he sees Calla, all he wants to do is protect her.
    Calla is first general of the dragon court, her life tied to a war that has been raging for years. Calla is frustrated and has resigned herself to never having a mate. That is until she is kidnapped by Mateo.
    This is a great read. I highly recommend it.
