    I liked Tanya, but there were a couple of places I wanted to smack her. She is smart and fearless. well as smart as a human trying to fight off a harpy can be. The Guardians, Daniel, Jack, Jaime and Lenny, work in a special department of the police department and answered her 911 call for help. They are serious about keeping her safe. It is now a matter of pride for the harpy to destroy Tanya. I loved how the drunk siren in her building kept calling Lenny a parrot when he shifted to his phoenix form, how embarrassing. I thought they were all kinda cruel and selfish when Lenny was the one who expressed his affection and he was the one shut out. The other thing that ticked me off with her was her whining that it was all her fault. Come on, that's what these guys do, they protect. At least she didn't go running off half-cocked to try and deal with it herself. She had her redeeming qualities too.

    Serve
    As the second book in the series, we know that the kidnappings and cannibalism is being committed by supernaturals. The FBI gets involved and Tara is sent to work with the police. As an FBI agent, she has her nose in the air like everyone is beneath her and they know nothing about investigating. She does not play well with others, so she definitely doesn't work well with them. I loved getting to know the new Phoenix team. Todd was so cool with his leprechaun powers. He and Adrian being brand new Phoenix don't have memories to access for help in the battles. Thaddeus and Adonis are the mature ones on the task force. Tara wants to know everything, but first she doesn't believe what she's told and then when her own eyes show her the truth, she doesn't listen to what the men tell her. She is not very nice or likable and it had me wondering if the guys were just so hard up and she was there. It was nice to see Donovan's crew again. Maybe Tara hanging out with Tanya will temper her personality and she will become a nicer gal.

    The beginning was different and I was hooked. I think Anthony was my favorite. But all of the men had their own charm. Myra changed so much. She was weak, scared, with no memories of her life or past and with the help of her guys she became strong, confident and decisive. We revisited all of the odd tenants from Tara's old apartment complex and they are still so funny. Especially Bunny, who thinks all of the guys are parrots. It was nice to have the other Phoenix teams involved in the final battle.

    I thoroughly enjoyed reading and reviewing the three stories in this box set. Though the last book "Obey" was more in depth in finding the portal and the battles than the romantic scenes, but from the other books the characters are integrated. Overall these are well written with romance, with touches of humor, hunky Phoenix shifters and battles in these three reverse harem romance stories. The stories are:
    Protect
    Tanya is taking the subway home after visiting the library to research on her thesis when she's attacked by a Harpy. She calls 911 and it transfer to special unit that deals with paranormal activity. When Officers Lenny, Jack, Jamie and Daniel arrive, Daniel turns into a Phoenix and chases the Harpy away. Tanya a first didn't want to tell what happen because she was afraid they consider her crazy, but with patience they got to the truth and realize the Harpy was after her, but they didn't know why. They decide to protect her and as they research for the answers in their investigations they form feeling for each other. Can Lenny, Jack, Jamie and Daniel protect Tanya and stop the Harpies?

    People are missing but when a boy disappears, Tara Winslow, FBI agent is assigned the case. Tara is determined, strong willed women so when the special NYPD squad, our Phoenixes refuse her orders, she fires them from the case. When she investigates further and finds a hidden grate that leads underground and enters she meets the Trolls and barely escapes. She goes to the guys asking for their reports of the missing people cases but it's retracted. What else are the guys hiding? When they meet later at a bar and walk her home the Trolls attack them, so the guys take her to their place. Now they have to work together for the Trolls have dominated the tunnels and sewers under New York Central Park. Can they find the missing people and save the boy?
    Obey
    One team of Phoenix shifters ( Derrick, George, Randall and Anthony ) who been demoted and moved to a safehouse in New York City by the Guardians because of their mishap handling on their last assignment. Unhappy at their new assignment to pickup a crate and take it to the safehouse and guard it. They rather be fighting the demons that escaped Hell through a portal. When a young, dirty, unnourished lady comes out of the crate, they have another problem. When Randall gives a candy bar for her to eat, he notices her eyes glowed. After she take a shower, they ask who she is and she introduces herself as Myra. Myra tells the guys that she and her family were hunted but she does not remember, why. When they join the other Phoenixes to find the portal to close, so that no more underworld creatures escape, they have to figure out what Myra is and why the Guardians wanted her protected?

    The story line was good. Most of it was pretty well-written, but the writing didn’t flow well in some places. Names that were incorrect or misspelled (Tara/Tanya/Tania), grammatical errors, etc, made it a frustrating read. These problems could be easily remedied with a decent proofreader or editor. I did enjoy the story and plot, which is the main thing.
