Bad Call - A Psychological Thriller Kindle Edition
Ralph da Silva has screwed up. Big time.
He's had four Tequilas too many for lunch and now he thinks he might have killed somebody—somebody important.
Somebody with a lot of very unpleasant friends.
The question is—can he get himself out of the country before they strap him to a chair and get the electrodes out . . .
One thing is certain—he can’t afford to make another bad call.

About the author

James Harper is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the wildly popular Evan Buckley crime thrillers. His novels weave tales full of mystery, non-stop action and edge-of-your-seat suspense with laugh-out-loud humor and a touch of romance, and feature maverick private-eye Evan Buckley and his sometimes partner in crime, Detective Kate Guillory.
For the past twenty-five years James has lived in a 400 year old cottage in the woods with his wife and their cats, Leonard and Lily. In his spare time James does what he’s told (if he knows what’s good for him) and likes touring Europe on his motorbike.

I have read all of. James Harper is among my favorites and Bad Call didn't disappoint me at all, in fact I admit to being stunned by the ending. I highly suggest that thriller fans don't miss out on reading it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2021Thoroughly enjoyed this tale of a self- centered boozer with no scruples, but plenty of paranoia. The entire story focuses on his poor choices and fear of consequences coupled with his ungracious judgement of others. Interesting and twisted ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2014I gave this book 3 stars! It was a really good book. Easy reading and interesting characters. The ending was unexpected. But, It felt like I was left hanging. Like the story wasn't finished. That's why I rated it so low. Finish the book or make it a series, with "Bad Call" being book 1. Once it's finished any adult gender would enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2018Once you read one of James Harper's books, you won't be able to stop until you have read them all! He is a master thriller crafter.
You should definitely read this book it has a surprising end that you won't see coming!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2018A pleasant diversion from his other books....which I also like very much. Lotta teension in this short book I was sweating almost as much as Ralph. I didn't see this ending coming. Karmic retribution?

5.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't end happily.
As a short story it was very good, I liked the ironies of the plot ,without giving to much away.
I read a lot for leisure ,especially during this pandemic, but without that lead a couple of books a week.
