Author C. Chase Harwood (aka Chris)
C. Chase Harwood made a career in Hollywood, decorating sets for film and television before turning his passion for storytelling into clicks on a keyboard. While scaling the walls of the screenwriting world, he chose to experiment with prose and found a fondness for Scifi-action-adventure. Within that framework, he gets to explore the countless ways that humans interact while under duress. "Life is all the more lived when the consequences are high. When told as a tale it can be quite a page-turner," says Harwood. He lives in Southern California with his costume designer wife and young boy girl twins.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2021I received an advanced copy of this book.
It had been a while since I had read book two, so I reread book 2. Then read book 3.
I had originally started reading the first book because the price was great and the story looked OK. I liked it enough to buy and read the 2nd book.
I liked that enough to follow Mr. Hardwood and sign up for his mailing list. There I was offered a chance to read an advanced copy of book three. Which o immediately upon reading scarfed up on.
After reading I decided this series deserves to be bought and read. So I bought the 3rd book.
Then started my review.
The series is a wee bit cheesy in places and a couple of the characters seem a little too stuck on 60s and 70 tunes. But it carried me away off this world for a while. Then gave me joy and new (and not so new) thoughts of other worlds and possibilities.
Thank you Mr. Hardwood
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2021When Chris said this would be the final to a trilogy, I couldn't wait for it. Fo some reason my email wouldn't catch the ARC copy so I had to wait out the Amazon retail copy showed up .
Got through it in 4 days and the more I read it seemed along a ending and tying thing together. Then it kind of left an opening for more. Chris developed great characters and they do Crazy things like all of us. Some characters you love, some, not so much. I will keep them in my Kindle and visit them when I feel I need some help with my ego. It was a great book, I would pick all three up and hope Chris doesn't get tired of his Gang.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2022I really liked this story and all the characters! I hope this isn't the last we hear from the team.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2021I received an ARC and thoroughly enjoyed it! The plot is very unique and interesting. It keeps you on the edge of your seat pretty much the whole time. The characters reminded me of some of my friends which is pretty funny. You won’t go wrong getting this book if you like sci-fi. The story is so believable, it is kinda scary.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021I received an ARC of this book. I enjoyed it tremendously. "Battle For Saturn" takes up where Book 2: "Pirates of Saturn" leaves off. Caleb, Jennifer, Spruck, Saanvi, and Hee Sook are back in the next installment of the Saturn Series. I really like how Mr. Harwood uses technology that is, for the most part, only slightly ahead of what we currently possess. He also limits the movements of ships in space to known physics and laws of motion. It is refreshing that an author takes the time to make things more realistic. Not that I have anything against Star Wars or Star Trek, as I am a huge fan of both. If you like books like Robert Heinlein's "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" then this book, while not quite the masterpiece that one is, you will enjoy this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021I received a advanced reader copy of the book it was a very interesting story that kept my attention from the start till I finished it. Any one that will pick up this book will enjoy it very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2021I received an Advanced Reader Copy of the third book in the trilogy.
This trilogy is what you get when you cross “The Expanse” with “Hitchhiker’s Guide”: humor, realistic depictions of science and plausible extrapolations of humanity’s near future in the solar system. A nice cherry on top is that these books are refreshingly free of real-like political moralizing by the characters.
The books were fun to read, kept my attention and had some good action scenes. It is also clear that the author put some thought into the topic of AI. I deducted a single star due to the fact that the third book was a bit slow to start and felt short. On the flip side, the first book is one of the few I’ve read more than once!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2021I have been a big fan of the Saturn series, giving 5 stars to the other books. Both the beginning and particularly the ending of this book were weak. The middle. Though was quite good. The author knows how to write an action story.
