Bayonets in No-Man's Land: An Epic Novel of World War One Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 199 ratings

An epic World War One military thriller! Perfect for fans of Richard Herman, Mark Berent, Peter Albano and Elleston Trevor.

Do inexperienced American soldiers stand a chance against the most devastating war machine the world has ever seen?

France, 1917

The Great War rumbles on, and Kaiser Wilhelm’s forces — among them a young and zealous
Adolf Hitler – remain undefeated.

The Allies, meanwhile, are exhausted and at breaking point. With defeat looming ever closer,
General Pershing’s American Expeditionary Forces, nicknamed ‘doughboys’, are drafted in to help.

For the raw recruits of Company B, the trenches prove to be a baptism of fire. Socially awkward
Private Samuel Bell is ill prepared for the rigours of war, while Lieutenant Duncan Hunter has lived his life in the shadow of his brother, the charismatic fighter pilot Blake Hunter.

But as the conflict builds to a shattering climax, all three men must quickly find new reserves of strength if they are to avoid becoming cannon fodder…

Can the doughboys win the day? Or will the horrors of the trenches prove too much to endure?

And how many of them will be left standing when the final shot has been fired?

Set in a pivotal year of the First World War, BAYONETS IN NO-MAN’S LAND is an action-packed historical military novel.

WW 1 the war to end all wars saw men die by the thousands with almost an entire generation of men killed of English, French, and German descent.

First of all its story could take place in any war. It has all the subject matter you see in movies: the action, drama, romance, combat fatigue. What I liked was the overall sense of what it was like to be a World War 1 soldier/Air man and what their love interest experienced. Not sure if I didn't like anything but I would have preferred more of the air war. Finally, I think this could be a good movie. Enjoy!

Terrific action the characters have depth and the understanding of combat is really done with depth. I like the way the characters interact

This shattering novel presents WWI in a new manner, following the lives of three American service men from the US entry in the war to its bloody end. It has a ring of authenticity that is frequently missig in novels about past conflicts.

Outstanding story of love and hate. The fight to be a part of the Air War and the struggle between two brothers for the love of a woman
