WHY C. G. COOPER MATTERS
Fiction has the power to change lives.
Pay a visit to Cooper Country and you’ll understand why. With his unique voice and flair for creating characters you’d love to hang out with, C. G. Cooper imparts every one of his novels with messages that perfectly illuminate what Faulkner called, “the human heart in conflict with itself.” In them, characters confront hard truths about life, the necessity of war, the military industrial complex, and why and how good men and women die.
But there are messages within the messages.
There is the power of the individual to triumph over evil against overwhelming odds; the struggle of good people against their inner demons; there is brotherhood, family, the discovery of allies in unexpected places, struggles with faith; there is community; there is authenticity; Cooper’s heart is on every page, beating hard and fast through action and moments of tenderness alike.
Expect high-octane action, slow-burn thrills, and gut-wrenching drama. Expect the ultimate conflict of the human heart.
This is Cooper Country. Lives will change.
THE LOWDOWN
Drawing on his days as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps—a stint that came on the heels of a degree in foreign affairs from UVA—Cooper sifted his experience through his vivid imagination and created Corps Justice, the first novel in the beloved Corps Justice series. Thus, a band of characters was born that would go on to enthrall readers throughout 17 novels and counting. With more than 2 million book downloads and multiple appearances in the Amazon Top 100, C. G. Cooper remains one of the most successful USA TODAY and Amazon best-selling authors.
In 2020, he won the prestigious James Webb Award presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for his novel Chain of Command.
In addition to bouncing around the country in search of the perfect vacation (turns out, it is anywhere with his family), Cooper has called Nashville home ever since his final Marine duty station. When not enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Music City, he’s doing his best to add more novels to the growing list at cg-cooper.com.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a good read. The story is not heavy but is a fantasy that I think many people wish was reality. The historical war between right and wrong.
You do need to read the whole series which is a pleasant task. Nor is it overly time consuming? There is some literary license involved but then it would not be fantasy. Well written. Solid structure with nice story arcs and character interplay.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseBenjamin Dragon books are well worth reading and tell an excellent story. The conclusion here in this third volume seems a little hurried. Isaac Asimov had the same problem with some of his writing. However that does not detract from my recommendation that you buy and read this novel.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseDon't even think you'll read just one book of the series. Quite enjoyable read, with a plot that draws the reader in. Extremely well written.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFantabulous, C.G.! I thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy you penned (or, perhaps punched away on a computer 😉.) Your character development was superb, making each individual come to life. I’ve had the enjoyment of reading most of your stories, and certainly look forward to the rest of them. Thank you!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA definite departure from C. G. Cooper’s usual style of writing but mesmerizing just the same. I’m glad I decided to try it while I waited for the next episode of Calvin Stokes’ saga. I enjoyed reading the whole trilogy and imagining ten year olds finding out they had one of three special powers and what they could do with them. Amazing! Try it and see.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe third book in the Benjamin Dragon series aims to tie up the main storyline and deliver our hero, Benjamin, to the climax of the series. Whilst, the first book focussed on his newfound life, hidden talents, family secrets and the realisation that there were others like him, the second covered his story as he comes to terms with his powers, and place in the world.
This book, Genesis, takes a different tack. Benjamin is largely absent from the main storyline, he's runaway on a mission that is lightly mentioned now and then. The focus is on many other characters. I would have liked the story to more closely follow Benjamin, to see and understand what he was experiencing and why. It's because of this that I was disappointed in this final book. I would have preferred more focus on Benjamin.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA very well written trilogy. I have a feeling that the author has had this story on his mind for some time. The author is guiding us to think about the young people of today and reminding us not to discount what they are capable of achieving if we let them. It's also important that we remember the lessons being brought forth about honesty, openness and sharing. I have read all of the Corps Justice series and while reading this trilogy I am seeing some of the characters from that series in a new light. A personal note to the author. Thank you. Semper Fi. Ooo Rah.

2.0 out of 5 stars Liked the first book a lot
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLiked the first book a lot. However book 2 and 3 don't always correlate and the author hasn't followed his own plot lines (to the point where you begin to wonder if it was written by other people. This kind of ruins the integrity of the story.
