- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2017Great follow up to the first demon book. Really enjoyed the story line. I could totally picture all of it as I was reading. Can't wait to see where this goes in the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2015This is a great short story...make sure to read the first one! I found a new favorite author! Peace out.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2017Sometimes houses are abandoned for a very good reason.
The author did a wonderful job at slowly building the tension. I was creeped out long before anything actually happened because of how much time was spent building up the backstory and explaining why it was such a horrible idea to have a party at the abandoned Starke house.
I would have liked to see more attention paid to why Jesse thought it was a good idea to summon a demon in the first place. He seemed to be a smart and cautious guy in other areas of his life, so I was confused by his obsession with this topic and how casually he approached it. Had there been a little more information about this, I would have easily given this book a much higher rating as I enjoyed everything else about it.
The twist ending caught me by surprise. It wasn’t anything like the first part of this series, but it fit the tone of the whole thing very nicely. I especially liked the fact that there were a few parts of it that reminded me a lot of what happened in The Red Door. While it isn’t necessary to read this series in order, including references to previous events like that was a nice touch for those of us who have read book one already.
If you’re in the mood for something that’s a little gory and very frightening, Beyond The Red Door: The Soul Seeker is a good choice.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2017The Starke house . . . a grim reminder of the secrets the place holds within its walls. Years ago, Max Jensen set foot inside the place. To everyone's dismay, he never made it out. No one knows if he's still alive. Nor do they know what truly happened to him. Many assume he ran away. That he was just tired of the life he led. There are those, however, who know that is not the case. There's more to the house than meets the eye, and Jesse Miller is determined in finding out the secrets it holds inside.
Picking up where book one leaves off, Beyond The Red Door delves deeper in the story behind the Starke house and the circumstances behind Max's disappearance. While people assumed that he left his entire life behind, we all know that Max wasn't the type to walk away from anything. He'd play by the twisted rules set before him in order to ensure his continued existence.
The house claimed its next victim from the moment Max walked through its doors, intent on becoming more than the inanimate object it should have remained. Though most might assume that the characters introduced within this story are the ones telling the story itself, we have to give credit where credit is due. The Starke house is the one pulling the story's strings, a sure fact the author makes sure to show with every turn of the page.
Not everyone believes in the paranormal, but there are a good many in life who do. It is possible for malicious entities to take full control of a place and manipulate it in such a way that it's hard for people to set foot in it. I know because as a child I used to live in such a place. The spirits inhabiting that place did everything possible to drive us out. I still don't know how my family and I survived there for as long as we did.
Delving deeper into the secrets of Starke house, Beyond The Red Door opens the reader's eyes to what it's like for a malicious entity to thirst for a life that was promised to it. Spirits are just like us. They yearn to live a life that's been forbidden to them so they do everything possible to slip into that very realm. For Max and the others, the house and the entity that lives inside its walls took control of the situation from the moment they set foot inside. What will become of the place as time goes by, we'll truly never know. Not until we dive deeper into the rest of what this series has to offer.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2017What a twisted and evilly wicked story. This author does not disappoint and I loved it. These new sets of characters were phenomenal and the story-line, though creepy, is extremely addicting. Even with the blood and gore, I found myself smiling at the end of the story. It's an all around awesome story and I highly recommend it.
The author provided me with a digital ARC copy of the book for review purposes only. No remuneration was exchanged.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2017Beyond the red door definitely scary once again a whole bunch of teenagers he wanted to play hero if that would be a party turned out to be a disaster people die in this apparent can't leave out the house very suspenseful a must read
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2014Chills and thrills in the old abandoned house. Beyond the Red Door brought me back to the day when every neighborhood had an old abandoned house that was believed to be haunted. Of course the high school kids decide a prank is in order, little do they know that the tables will be turned with the prank turning into reality. This was a delightfully chilling read. The writing was wonderfully done and the characters believable, as well as relatable. It is a short read that is a complete tale with a very satisfying resolution. Definitely recommend for readers wanting a little chill and perhaps a little feeling of nostalgia for those around the campfire tales. Read through Amazon Prime.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2013I received this book from the author for an honest review. This was an enjoyable end to the first book, The Red Door. It left a few questions in my mind, but I still enjoyed the characters and their interaction.
