The first bit of the story was a little slow for me, through no fault of the author, but because of MY impatience. The necessary steps to jog the readers’ memory of the characters and events that had lead up to the point of the story I would soon be reading reminded me of all the things I had forgotten. The reintroduction to the characters and happenings didn’t last long before I was sucked into the exciting continuation of the series.
In Beyond Redemption Lady J continues Ellora and Behr’s story after the harrowing attack in the warehouse. The couple, while still on edge, are moving past the incident, and settling into their new, lessened, sense of security and safety. With her attacker behind bars, and the detective from America working hard to bring justice to those effected by Dalton’s reign of terror, Ellora feels at ease enough to plan her future, her Grizzly Behr protector never far from her side. Giddeon, her attacker, is transferred back to the US where his story unfolds simultaneously as he works with Detective Antonelli to exact his revenge.
The plot thickens and twists when unexpected details are revealed allowing the story to flow quickly, enticing the reader to read with vigor. I would divulge to tell you more, but no one likes a spoilsport. I can tell you that I never expected to root for the antagonist, or that I would crave to read more about him in the next book in the Forever Marked Series. When I interviewed him (Giddeon) after his arrest, he had said some things that at the time I found monstrous, and vile. But his words soon made sense and my heart ached for him, broke for him. I never realized how absolutely human an evil monster could be. That our humanity is often what makes us into the very monster we do not want to become.

While reading from the third person perspective of Giddeon’s story proved quickly to hold favoritism, Ellora’s was equally balanced with excitement of a different variety leaving me even more anxious to read the next book in the series.

We're introduced to Giddeon in book one, and we hate him. The author puts forth a valiant effort for trying to make readers feel some kind of sympathy for this psychopath. It didn't work out for me. This book is a lot darker than the first. Ellora, Giddeon, and the ex cop hired by Dalton, Ellora's captor, all seek revenge on the same man- Dalton the psychopath who has committed so many crimes, and malicious acts, we find ourselves hating this character with a burning passion. It was indeed a continuation of the first book, but I would have liked to see more of Gavin and Adelle, Ellora's friends she meets when first coming to Scotland. It was hard to read any parts about Giddeon, because the author had really done an amazing job in the first book, getting us to hate him. This character, for me, was beyond any kind of redemption, and it was incredibly tough to get through reading anything to do with him.

Beyond Redemption was even better than I expected. As much as I loved Forever Marked, Beyond Redemption offered a unique twist in winning over readers to a man we all wanted to see hung. Digging into the background of the man behind the eyes that brought such terror to Ellora, Jesse Lorenzo brings to light the horrifying tale of Giddeon’s past—a past that will have your heart hurting for the man he has become, the boy who experienced such heartache and devastation, and the evil manipulation that changed the course of this young boy’s life, turning him into the killer he is today. This story will have you cheering for the anti-hero and hoping he, too, can find redemption from the manipulation that has consumed his life.

It is through this installation that readers will begin to gather greater information about the man who is after Ellora.

With finishing book one Forever Marked I had to start this one right away. I was expecting it to be a continuation from the ending of book one which it was I just wasn't expecting it to center around Gideon who was the one who attacked Ellora. The author makes you feel for Gideon with his past and by the end you even like him. Her words pull you in and makes your heart ache for him. You do get the story of Behr and Ellora continued with some suspense included. I love the dedication that Behr has in loving her. It gives you hope that all is well. You stay on the edge of your seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. Then the author gives you a twist at the end with Dalton which I wasn't expecting.

I can't wait to book 3 is out so I can find out what happens next. Jesse Lorenzo has definitely moved to one of my top authors to read.

This is the second book in the series. It continues on from the first book perfectly. Again it's a page turner that you have trouble putting down. The twists and turns are brilliantly cast. You really need to put this series on your TBR list

5.0 out of 5 stars If I could give a higher rating than 5 stars I would!

Wow! Just wow! I loved the first book and this was not a disappointment. You start the book loathing Giddeon, however the more you read about his past you realise why he's the way he is. Lady J description of feelings, characters, and scenery are amazing, it's like your standing there witnessing the scene play out.
It was great to see Ellora and Behr back and to see how their relationship has grown. Very gripping story line again with them and Dalton.
I cannot fault this book. From start to finish I just loved it. I cannot wait for book 3. If I could give a higher rating than 5 stars I would!

This was a far better book than book 1. The story was gripping and it left you on the edge of your seat. Again, being a Scottish person, the Scottish dialogue wasn't great, and it was annoying, but because this book was split between America and Scotland, it was much more tolerable.
Ellora and Behr were still strong character going through hell to get their life back on track.
This time we see a change in tactics and where we hated Gideon from book 1, we learn more about him in this book and see the true person. Why he is the way he is.
I do look forward to book 3, because Dalton is still looking for revenge.
