BLESSED ARE THE EAGLES (Stand-Alone Romantic Thrillers Book 1) Kindle Edition
A thriller, a mystery, a love story all wrapped up with supernatural elements.
It ended with theft and murder…
One day Callie Brennan is a happy shop owner. The next, she’s recruited by a Bureau of International Antiquities agent in a plot to catch thieves trafficking in stolen Hopi artifacts. Before Callie gets the details, the agent is murdered and the next stranger to come calling thinks she had something to do with his death. Finn Gallagher works as a civil engineer, a cover that works well for his real job as a secret agent…or so he thinks.
But it started with a legend…
Both Callie and Finn harbor secrets. From the moment they meet, nothing is normal for either of them again. Will their feelings for each other be strong enough to withstand the evil that has been stalking them both for years? As false identities are revealed, and the prophecies of an old Hopi legend come true, who will survive and who will not? Who will recognize the lies and who will continue to search for the truth? With the incarnation of the mystical Hopi Eagle kachina, Callie and Finn will be staggered by one truth they could not have anticipated.

About the author

Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. She has been an avid reader since childhood and penned her first fiction "book" in high school. She particularly likes to write mystery/suspense/thriller with a love story and paranormal or supernatural elements. She is a three-time RWA Golden Heart Finalist. Simas currently has 42 books in print. All are available in both paperback and in ebook format.
An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family's "genealogist" and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from decade's old documents in Italian, she says, has been a supreme but gratifying challenge.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2015Oooo.. a thriller with some romance.. this was amazing and so much fun to read. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. - Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2014I have been waiting for this book to be published. As with her previous books, the characters are so engaging, and the plot so interesting, the book just draws you in. I stayed up late into the night on two nights in a row to read this book. It was terrific! Not only was the writing top notch, the information on Indian legends is also interesting. Can't wait for the next one, Ann.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2015I consider myself a prolific romance reader. Due to this I am always pleased when I come across a romance that is done really well from an author that is new to me. I feel lucky that "Blessed Are The Eagles" by Ann Simas hit both those marks.
Blessed Are The Eagles revolves around Hopi mysticism. When the author wrote in the story the significance of Hopi elements they were explained in terms that didn't leave me feeling like I needed to go look up an in-depth explanation of what I had just read.
Callie Brennan and Finn Gallagher are the h and H though there were several other essential characters in the book that were as interesting in this exciting romantic mystery. The dialogue was believable. There were funny moments that made for a great balance with the serious nature of the storyline.
Blessed Are The Eagles should be made into a movie, it was that good.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2015I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review :) I loved this story, at first I was sceptical but as soon as I started reading about Callie, Finn and their family and friends I was enraptured. This story kept me entertained from start to finish. The plot twists had me wondering where the story was heading next and how this was going to turn out. Definitely on my list of re-reads and favourites. A definite recommended read :)
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2015Having read something from this author before but of a different type, I just knew she could mesmerize me once again with her writing. This one promised lots of suspense with some romance in a interesting setting. She certainly did deliver that in this tale. Callie is being framed but everyone knows she could not of done such a thing. Finn is determined to find that out plus who killed his friend. When they connect they will open the door to more than just answers. I like also the heritage also that is used throughout with the Native American theme. Well plotted it will have you going with them trying to stay one step ahead in the who done it game. They will have a attraction for each other that will grow but be not the conventional once they meet devour each other type. Anticipation will be part of it where will they go with it. The suspense spine tingling at times because of the events and weird occurrences that fit right in because of the story. Callie is a character that you will fall in love with and cheer her on to come out on top through it all. Scummy ex in the picture that you at times would like a piece of him but he will meet his. The pace will pick up that your breath will catch at times but this author will weave it all together so nicely that in the end when it all falls down you will be left with sense of completion and well satisfied with this novel.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2015Reading this book was like a perfect blend of a great mystery story combined with rich history. The story literally puts you in a spell and not only is the story fabulous but the history of the Hopi was so well detailed and enchanting. Is always a great experience to discover clues at the same time as the characters feeling the exact emotions they experienced. I could totally feel my cheeks burn from when I would get mad or worried for the characters.
A nice long read but so worth the adventure totally a must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars like deadly snakes
Callie Brennan lives in a small town where she owns a shop that specializes in Hopi and other native collectibles . She is suspect of partaking in stolen artifacts , scheme ,which one man had always had died ,she sets out to clear her name. But when a man by the name of Finn Gallagher enter her life , and when things begin to get complicated ,Gallagher has ties to Shiloh and has a interest in the stole items . He starts to investigate Callie with some hope of clearing his deceased friends name and than all at once strange things start to happen, like deadly snakes, paranormal visits, and more dead ,surrounding Callie and Finn , Finn tries to decide if its just a cover for Callie crimes or what. Or is her life in danger too. But they both can't seem to be honest with each other for more than a minute or two. Will they both start to feel love in each other and trust and put they differences aside long enough to solve this crime or what ? This is the first I've read of this author and I totally enjoyed it right from start to finish .It's a very gripping story and the characters were amazing . I truly would recommend to others to pick up a copy of this book and enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great storyline. Though there is a lot happening it ...
Received the book for an honest review. Ms. Simas weaves a tale of mystery, suspense, history, romance and paranormal. A great storyline. Though there is a lot happening it is easy to follow and you'll be drawn in from page one. This book has everything a PNR lover could possibly want.
