    I love the characters in this series, and I've been waiting to read Sean's story. I was not disappointed.

    Wow, Sean is such a wonderful, sexy man. He loves so deeply and boy does he have a magical way with words. I'd no doubt, do anything he said just as easily as Sam did. The background to this story is that Sean and Sam (Samantha) dated in college for over a year and were very much in love. Then without any warning whatsoever, Sam broke up with Sean using a lame excuse and left him. Had Sam just sat down and talked to Sean, things would have been different. She's regretted her decision ever since.

    Blissful Surrender takes place ten years later. Sam is a cop now and responds to a call from a bar she knows is owned by Sean. When she arrives at the scene, she sees Ryan, Sean's younger brother who has been injured in an attempted robbery. She leaves quickly before running into Sean, but later that night at the hospital when she's checking on Ryan, she and Sean come to face to face. She knows instantly she's still in love with him and again feels the regret for her mistakes. Sean can't believe he's standing before the love of his life and the one lady who can bring him to his knees. He decides then, he'll do whatever it takes to get her back in his life. There is a side story regarding Ryan and his gambling problems, but the majority of this story focuses on Sean and Sam.

    You will absolutely adore Sean. His heart is the biggest part of him, and no matter how dominating he can be towards Sam, she knows he's kind and loves her. Great book.

    Sam is a little annoying at first in her attempts to deny what is clear to everyone, but she quickly accepts the inevitable and the passion between these two is even better than they remember.

    I’m a big fan of The Bliss series. BJ Harvey’s writing in this series is very funny, sexy, and emotional. I was pretty excited to get my hands on this particular book because Sean Miller’s character from Temporary Bliss. He was mysterious and his sexual tendencies had me very curious. BJ Harvey didn’t disappoint me with Blissful Surrender. She builds this wonderful story with complex characters that pull you in as soon as you begin to read.

    Sean Miller is a pretty serious guy with a unorthodox personal life. Sean is a powerful lawyer by day, owner of a fetish club Throb by night. Even as his professional life thrives, his personal life is a mess. Sean’s brother Ryan is a gambling addict. And he can’t seem to get over his first true love Samantha “Sam” Richards. Sam Richards hasn’t laid eyes on Sean in ten years. After giving up the one person who meant the world to her, she is realizing her dream of being a Chicago police officer. But doesn’t have any meaningful relationships in her love life, except for a friends with benefits situation. What happens when these two former lovers unsuspectingly meet again? Hopefully high drama and hot sex!

    Samantha Richard’s character has a hardened heart. After years of being a Chicago cop, she’s seen it all. She also has a mother who has help Sam build up this wall against any man who loves her. Personally, toxic mother/daughter relationships in books really resonate with me. Sam’s mother never gets over her husband’s abandonment and dooms her daughter with her hateful rhetoric. I felt so bad for Sam. How do you defy someone who gave you life, but clearly is not the right person to help build healthy relationships. Sean Miller’s character suffers from the same problem. After dealing with deep personal loss, he is left with his brother Ryan who is a mess. His addictions are now effecting Sean’s business, but he is having a hard time dealing with this situation. Sean won’t just abandon the only person he has left. When Sam and Sean finally come together, I’m so freaking happy! I want them to overcome all these toxic people and situations and I think BJ does a good job of a making this happen. I do wish she would have written in some type of conflict/resolution with her mother toward the end of the book. I really would have enjoyed Samantha telling her mom to shove it.

    The sex in Blissful Surrender are pretty hot. Sam and Sean have great chemistry, no matter how much Sam tries to deny it. He knows all the right buttons to push with her and the reader ends up with some hot sex scenes! We also get some great flashbacks from Temporary Bliss from Sean and Makenna’s relationship.

    Blissful Surrender is another great addition to the Bliss series. BJ delivers a great story with a deep back story, complex and complicated characters, and steamy romance. She also gives the reader a nice glimpse at the past characters from previous books. And as always BJ’s hilarious banter between the characters and laugh out loud one-liners are just one of the many reasons I love her books. I give Blissful Surrender 4 out of 5 stars!

    I originally started this last year and paused on it. Why? I'm not sure. I think the first two books plus a novella were different in the sense that they were told through the eyes of two best friends Mac & Kate.

    **Backtracking really quick. First book is about Mac and her 3 friends with benefits..Sean, Zander, and Noah. She then meets her "Superman" Daniel. Yada Yada Yada.... Stays friends with all 3 guys-on-side, but goes for Superman...Happily Ever After. Second book is about Mac's best friend Kate. Sets Kate up with one of the Ex Friends-With-Benefits Zander. They hit it off. He gives up his current Magic Mike gig, becomes a cop (Enter Sammy from this book) Yada...Yada..happily ever after.**

    Now, Sean was also an Ex-With-Benefits from Mac's past. Sammy was the love of his life 10 years prior, before pulling a break up and hauling as* out of his life.
    They are reunited by the Chicago Gods and in comes a blossoming second chance at love. Yada..Yada... You have to read the rest.

    Sean was known throughout the series as the DOM of Mac's 3 boy toys. He's slightly overbearing, sexy as sin, and has one dirty mouth on him! The book is told in Dual POV's. You get a few flashbacks on what happened leading up to her breaking it off and leaving him in the dust. It was good to see her hold her own to him and mouth off and stand up for herself when she needed to. This book is pretty light. It has some serious smokin sex and is a good book to add to your shelf if you like reading a second chance romance. It's not necessary to read the other books, but Mac and Kate's stories were AWE-SOME!

    Though I haven't read the final book, I can say with much reassurance that Blissful Suurender is the only book that can get away with being read as a standalone. I recommend the entire series because all of the characters have their own special personal way of BRINGING SEXY BACK!! Sorry, had to get a little J. T. in there for ya'll ;)

    the third instalment of the bliss series by BJ Harvey is as amazing as I hoped. I loved Daniel and Zander had me in love with his sexy ways but Sean the dom miller had me extremely hot under the collar. using Sammie's work apparel to his own advantage was just plain naughty. this isn't the normal, dark messed up type of Dom read, it's so much more. Sean knows what he wants, he's comfortable with himself and has a beautiful sweet side to him, but once in the bedroom he takes control. I loved seeing old faces and meeting some amazing new ones. this had me laughing out loud, swooning, and fanning myself throughout. it's a must read, get one clicking now

    Great series. Sean is such a gorgeous hero. Sammy is a lovely , feisty yet feminine heroine. These two were made for each other. Any affection for Mac that Sean had was blown out the water by his soul deep love and passion for Sammy - the girl who was always meant to be his. Great story. Really enjoyable.

    Restaurant decoration, food selection don't drive the story but this author devotes much time to describing them instead of creating friction between the leading characters.

    Having the male 'roar with laughter' over something not funny at all, creates the impression of fake or phoniness, not desirable for the leading man.

    Editing is a serious issue with this book,

    Author doesn't seem to grasp that if someone else uses your phone to text, that the phone doesn't know that and simply formats the response as if from the phone's owner.

    But, calling her attraction to him, slutty, just turned me off this story. Won't read this author again. DNF

    My favourite two genres are thirty somethings and second chance love and this book covers both in one instalment of delightful deliciousness. I have been a fan of BJ Harvey since the start and love finding new authors that manage to pull me into a world where the characters become real and I can submerge myself.

    This is the third book in the Bliss series and covers the most intriguing of the men, Sean. Sean is a lawyer by day and sex club owner by night, he was also one of Mac’s friends with benefits. The female lead in this book Sam, Sam is a police officer and is also Zander’s partner. Yes this circle of friends is getting smaller and smaller, ever decreasing circles!!

    Sam has only ever been in love once, she fell in love in college, was all set to commit herself for life, until her interfering, scorned mother gets in on the act. Somehow, this man-hating woman manages to persuade Sam that this man is no good and she should just concentrate on her career so that she can support herself, you should never have to rely on any man in her mums eyes. Sam being the ever dutiful daughter listens to her mum and does the hardest thing ever…she walks away…from the only man she has ever loved. 10 years later, fate has other plans. Will this 10 year gap be enough to realise that what she once had is too good to forego a second time? Will she finally let herself be happy?

    “You’re not going to regret this.” “I know” she whispers. “Believe me, I know.”

    Sean was always the enigma in this series, we were never really told much about him, but what you did know was that he was powerful, he exuded confidence and he was dominant. I was intrigued to know the man behind the façade and in this book we finally see the real Sean. I have to say I will always have a soft spot for our “Superman” but Sean comes in at a close second. Sean has had a tough life growing up, but he never let this determine his future. He only really has one regret in life and that was letting the love of his life walk away 10 years ago. He should have fought harder. Since she walked away he has never loved another, no-one could compare, he has had a lot of meaningless sex in his life since, but not once has he managed to take the next step. She was the one that got away, but she also took his heart with him. How would he react when 10 years later, destiny deals him a second chance. Will he be man enough this time to fight for the woman he had loved for years and has never stopped loving for the past ten?

    “God, I missed you Sam. I missed you so effing much.”

    This is by no means a tale about a broken, kinky, dominant man getting “fixed” but this is more a story of love, second chances, forgiveness, learning to trust and learning to live again. Yes the road will always be bumpy, but BJ Harvey manages to pull you in and captivate you with their beautiful story. The chemistry between these two is seriously hot, the pages literally sizzle and you cannot help but will them on. Sam could be rather annoying at times, but Sean never gives up and keeps persevering. Sam needs this, she missed him for the past 10 years and thank god, now that she is on her own, she finally realises what she had given up all those years ago.

    “Better than before,” he murmurs as he places a soft kiss against my skin. “Better than ever,” I add.

    It also has to be said that once again I can see the growth in BJ’s writing with this instalment. With every single new release you can see the metamorphosis from beginner to pro and once again she managed to deliver another amazing read. Her books are always littered with her sense of humour and you will find yourself laughing out loud on many occasions. This always balances her stories well, with that blend of angst, wit and love. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the Doc. Whilst he was never one of the most intriguing characters, I know for sure that BJ Harvey will manage to develop his story into another captivating, humorous read.

    Very possibly my favourite in the series, although, my other reviews may say that about Mac and Kate. I love them though. I was fully expecting another 'Girl-convinces-Dom-to-live-differently' story and I was so very pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it.
