Blocked: A Seattle Sockeyes Puck Brothers Novel (The Scoring Series Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 814 ratings

Playing for the Seattle Sockeyes is a dream come true. Yet in less than twenty-four hours, my life is a hot mess, and my dream has turned into a nightmare.

It all starts when I have a one-night stand with my teammate's wife, only I'm not aware she's married, let alone his wife. Now she's stalking me, my teammate hates me, and I'm madly attracted to his sister.
Not a situation I'd wish on anyone, especially me.

From the Author

JAMI'S THOUGHTS:Because of all the heartbreak, all the chaos, and all the worry going on in the world, this book was the toughest one I've ever written. Setting a book in the old normal while living in this new normal was harder than I ever imagined. Whenever my characters went to a party or hung out together, I would balk at letting them do that. Eventually, I found my zone, and I was able to immerse myself in the book and the world I'd created, but it was a rocky road getting there.I'm always too close to a book to know if readers are going to like it or not. All I know about Blocked is that I wrote the majority of the book while on stay-home orders. My editor gutted it, and I added over 18k words to it and deleted 2-3 chapters and one plot line. I sent it back to her, and she gutted a little bit more of it, and back I went to doing more edits. During all this, I'm stressed as my hubs is high-risk. I'm also worried sick for the people out of jobs, the small businesses, our country's economy, and everything else. Regardless, I pushed on. The result is a book I'm proud of. I persevered and finished it on time, wrote through the difficult and embraced the good times.I hope this book gives you enjoyment and escape from any pressures you're under. Thanks for reading. Be safe. Find joy in the simple things.

USA Today bestselling author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary, new adult, and sports romances, including Gone Missing, Seattle Sockeyes, The Scoring Series, and the Portland Icehawks.

Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and two demanding tabby cats.

Jami worked in IT for years and is also a former high school business teacher but recently achieved a life-long dream of being a full-time author. A horse lover since birth, Jami showed dressage horses for over thirty years. Now she gardens and goes glamping, along with other travelling adventures. She's a lifetime Seahawks and Mariners fan, a proud season ticket holder for the Seattle Kraken, and still misses her SuperSonics. An avid boater, Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in her books. In her opinion, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

Getting mixed up with a cheater is a mistake no one wants to make. Unfortunately, it happens. What a mess it turns into for a whole lot of people!

    Axel and Geneva

I liked listening to this the narrators did a good job. Axel made the biggest mistake not knowing his hook up not only happens to be married she is also the wife of his teammate. Then he finds himself attracted and wanting to know his sister. I love how he wears her down to go out with him. Geneva is in my opinion on cool chick grew up in a biker community, not afraid to stick up for her family. Love the snarky remarks she says and makes Axel work at it to get her to go out with her. Then you have the dynamic between Axel and his teammates and is forced to spend time with Geneva's brother. He ends up showing he really isn't the bad guy they make him out to be.

Jami Davenport out did herself with this book. I have read hundreds of sports romance books and have not read one with a plot like this one yet. It’s a one of a kind read that you will absolutely love. It has the warm and fuzzes to drama to suspense. Of course love because what is a romance book without love. Reading the synopsis I thought no way. But yes way. It’s a great book. Alex is well I just love him. He could have been my best bud growing up. Gen reminds me of so many of my cousins. The tough girl on the outside that thinks she can handle it all but is soft on the inside. The plot is a great read. Can’t wait now to read the rest of the Puck brothers and hopefully Jock will get a book. I need him to have a book.

I love everything about the Seattle Sockeyes Hockey Team and I hope Jami Davenport keeps on writing this Fantastic Series.
We meet Axel a rookie for the Sockeyes in the most unconventional way and in a way he didn’t make or want that kind of impression on his teammates.
Geneva is the sister of backup goalie Jock and is working as an intern for the Sockeyes but when she meets Axel she can’t help feel the instant chemistry towards him but he’s the last person she should be attracted too.
Axel will do whatever it takes to get back to that bond he should have with his teammates and also to pursue his attraction to Geneva.
I loved this couple, the chemistry, the angst but even just the understanding of the other to finding the happiness that not only they find for each other but the happiness for their family.

I really have enjoyed several of this authors novels but the first few pages of this pages of this one just gave me the creeps. I just don’t think any amount of attraction to Axle could have made up for the ick factor. So I regret paying for this book. Waste of time and money.

I have loved every book from Jami Davenport and this one is no exception. Axel and Geneva have sparks from the beginning and bothered overcome the obstacles to make their own happy ending.

Jami’s love of hockey and knowledge of the sport is evident in her Sockeyes series. I hope You enjoy this book as much as I did!

    Great story.
A woman comes onto Axel in a hotel bar and they go back to his room. He doesn’t know she is married to a member of his new team.
He is now being shunned by his new team. The only bright light is his friendship with Geneva, sister in law to the woman he slept with.
Can he gain forgiveness from his team and a relationship with Geneva.
Well written and nice to have a new trope to read.
