A new job with a Russian vampire billionaire.
A daughter who’s finally thriving.
And Josh—the dangerously gorgeous vampire I adore—is finally letting his guard down.
Then one brutal attack rips it all apart.
The man I trusted most is hiding more than I ever imagined.
Blood and secrets tear my world apart.
Josh
I tried to stay away. She was light, and I’ve lived too long in the dark.
But Keeley made me want more—companionship, fatherhood, love.
Now I’ve failed to protect what’s mine.
And I’ll risk everything to put it right.
Because some secrets protect you... and some destroy everything you've fought to keep.
Could this one be the key to our future?

- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the second book in the ‘Night Movers’ series by Helen Bright. It can be read as a standalone. It does not have a cliffy. The characters in this series are related in some way, either by friendship, blood, or marriage, so the books are related. You don’t HAVE to read the books in order, but as always with series books, the reading experience will be better if you read in order. This is especially true with this book because something happens that starts in book one and it’s going to shock you. The author does an excellent job of giving the reader the information needed to understand what is happening in this book, so if you are starting here, you will not be confused and the flow will not be interrupted. However, by not experiencing the first book, you are not going to experience the full impact of this particular twist. Not to worry, because there are more of those for you to experience. Once you recover from one, BAM, you get with another one. There is quite of bit suspense with this book, which is always good.
This book gets very sad, heartbreaking, even. I can’t give details because really, what is the fun in that? You will just need to one-click and get the details for yourself. Just know that after the author is finished playing with your emotions, she will make everything good feel good again. Just buckle up, hold on, and hang in there. It’s all about the feels, and I promise that you will get them here. There are steamy love scenes and a special eroticism that vampires always bring.
As with the first one, this book is written in first person with no problems. There are multiple POVs from the primary characters. This is the love story of two couples and all the characters know each other. You will be captivated so don’t plan on putting this book down until the very last word. The plot is well developed and flows effortlessly. The primary and secondary characters are well developed. The writing throws you into the story so you feel everything.
I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author. She made me love vampires again with her new and different spin. She made them caring, generous with the same feelings and needs, with one little exception, as the humans that they live with and love. They don’t feel inferior, and they don’t take advantage of their gifts.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAfter liking the first book in this series, I bought the other three. This one was not as good because it had two major plot lines which had very little to do with each other. The second plotline should probably have been a separate novella. But the first plotline is quite absorbing as two inveterate loners try to reach an accomodation to suddenly finding themselves part of a couple. If you've ever been in a couple fight with a new significant other, you know what I mean.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read book one and loved it. I would start there, but if you haven’t read it, there’s enough back story in book two to catch you up. The main characters are Keeley and Joshua. But there’s a great supporting cast as well, including Russian vampires Gregor and Sergi. This suspenseful and emotionally charged novel captures the tension between characters and unlocks secrets beneath the surface of their lives. The POV’s are alternating first person which gave me a lot of insight to the characters. Helen Bright has created an imaginative world I look forward to visiting again and again.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read the first book and had to get the second. It did not disappoint! Full of vampire drama, love, and incredible steamy sex, with thrills of suspense thrown in. A cast of wonderful characters. Gregor is so sexy! Not one to give out spoilers, as others have fleshed it out quite well, I can only say I highly recommend and give author Helen Bright 5 stars!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read these backwards the 2nd one first. A story of attraction and sweet love with suspense and unpredictability. Helen you are off to a good start and I will be in line for delivery of the next addition. If you can keep the rest flowing I feel you are well on your way to a series that you can expound on. I like the beginning you have started with. I was able to connect with the characters and feel their emotions as you wrote them. Thanks and I look forward to many more from you..
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have a like, unlike relationship with this series and the author's writing. Some of the character's life stories, get told in it's entirety, over and over, instead of just saying. "So I sat down a retold Keeley about how Alex and I met and what followed that horrible day".
AND..lol.. My male friends.. are sooo not touchy feelY with me, and MY husband (who is not a Vampire) would never deal with that kind of affection from them. Keeley allowing Gregor to get THAT* close to her ( in the red room of pain lol ) and the Gina/Sergei/Nik scene… too unbelievable…oh unless a 3some is introduced in book #3.. Guess I'll be purchasing it. :-)
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseKeeley & Josh's story is sweet, intense and dangerous. The writing has all the feels. I couldn't put the book down. Looking forward to the next in series.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2016Format: KindleThis book is good. Moved a little too fast but it was a decent read. I liked the characters just wish there was more character building. Julia slept with Alex on the first night and 2 months later she's bonded and pregnant. Also those 2 months seemed like 2 weeks in the book. But it was still an okay book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will steal your sleep!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOften the second book in a series can be disappointing after the initial book in the series blows you away, but this did not happen when I read Blood & Secrets, the second book in The Night Movers series. I was in my happy place from the very first page.
Not only did I have a new vampire romance to read, I got to know two characters intimately as well as “meet” new characters to fall in love (or hate) with. It also opened up endless opportunities for new books that haven’t been published yet. Yes, Helen, that’s a hint.
I love the world Helen Bright has created and I’m looking forward to exploring more of this world. Did I love it more than the first book? I don’t know, but since I couldn’t give more than 5 stars for the first book or this one, I’ll have to limit my rating to 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Installment!!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the second book in the Night Movers Series by Helen Bright & as much as I've seen reviews saying this can be read as a standalone personally l disagree. I think you need to have read book 1 first because certain events in this book continue from book 1 as do the characters.
The focus this time is predominately on Keeley & Josh, although Freya & Daniel sneak in later in the book. Keeley has worked for Night Movers for a while but for the past 5 months she has been Gregor's PA. Keeley knows about the owner's of Night Movers being vampires as is Gregor, it doesn't bother her, she enjoys her work & see's them as her friends too.
Josh had taken Keeley & her daughter back home to her fathers house, only to find her father drunk. With a little help from Josh, Keeley's dad agrees to get help from the doctor. Josh, Keeley & Daisy head back to Josh's place.
Over the course of time things between Josh & Keeley change. Can they both accept the changes & the secrets that are uncovered?
Again I found Blood & Secrets to be captivating. I was pulled head first back into the world of The Night Movers Vampires, I was there alongside each & everyone of them vampire or human. It was good to see that Keeley, Daisy & Josh were eventually getting some happiness & good luck.
The author has written another compelling story that will wrap it's fingers around your heart & mind. The character's that we already know (from book 1) are even more loveable; they show more progression as they demonstrate different aspects of their individual personalities & more emotion. The new character's that we are introduced to soon earn their place in your heart along with everyone else & they integrate into the group without too many issues but in a way that is believable.
The writing has continued to be descriptive & informative but in such away that you can't help but keep reading to find out more. The pace is good & flows naturally, it captures your attention & holds it throughout. I found it easy to follow & was surprised by the twists that the author has included.
To me this was great addition to a series that has started with such promise. I for one am really looking forward to reading book 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy yet sweet vampire romance with a twist
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really enjoyed this second book in the Night Movers series. I love the way the relationships between the characters develop in this series - although there are plenty of extremely steamy scenes, it's the romance that remains at the forefront of the story at all times.
The relationship between Keeley and Josh is slightly more angst-ridden than the relationship between Alex and Julia in the previous book but, considering all that Keeley has to go through, that's hardly surprising and helps to keep the story realistic. I also enjoyed the sub-plots and, in particular, the links to Jack the Ripper in the one concerning Freya. The twist towards the end, which I didn't see coming, was an added bonus, as it helped to make the ending happier than it had seemed possible.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series - can't wait to read more about Gregor :) - and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys their romance with a touch of sweet mixed in with the steam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy erotic love scenes, interwoven into another fabulous paranormal read.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI loved the second book in the night movers series. We caught up with the characters we'd met in book one and learned even more of their back ground.
Two love stories for the price of one again, now that's value for money. And what love stories they were, hot erotic scenes, great dialogue and characterisation with lovely descriptive scenes.
Helen has a knack for really allowing you to see into the lives and relationships of her characters, as they take you on their journey.
This has it all, love, angst, the great fight for to get their hearts desires and a little intrigue too.
Now if we could only all find someone to bond with *sigh*
I'm not giving anything away, you'll have to read it for that, but I can assure you it'll be worth it.
Roll on book three.
