4.4 out of 5 stars 348 ratings

Fate and danger threw them together. But once the adrenaline fades, will love last?

Seth saves Evan from a dark witch, and they go on the run together, on the trail of a coven of ritual killers. But when the dust settles, will Evan regret his choice? Seth’s life as a hunter is dangerous, and he’s constantly on the road. He’s fallen in love with Evan and he wants him to stay, but Seth is afraid Evan would be better off without him.

Evan’s whole world has been turned upside-down by the dangerous stranger who saved his life. Evan made a split-second decision and teamed up with Seth when just days ago, he didn’t even believe magic was real. Now Evan’s worried that he might not be able to hold his own, but he’s determined to have Seth’s back. He’s sure of only one thing—his love for Seth.

If they’re going to survive, they need to learn to fight like a team. And if they’re going to make it as a couple, they need time to heal old wounds, confess secrets and fears, and risk trusting each other—body and soul.

Burn is a supernatural, learning-to-trust-again thrill ride packed with hurt/comfort, deadly magic, immortal witches, determined hunters, creepy ghosts, scary monsters, true love, impressive explosions, spooky chills and sexy thrills.

Morgan Brice is the romance pen name of bestselling author Gail Z. Martin. Morgan writes urban fantasy MM paranormal romance, with plenty of action, adventure and supernatural thrills to go with the happily ever after. Gail writes epic and urban fantasy, with less romance, more explosions.

All of the modern-day Morgan Brice and Gail Z. Martin series crossover, so characters from one series appear in cameos and on page in important secondary roles in books from other series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the more you read the more the expanded universe of friendships and connections becomes clear.

Morgan and Gail believe that paranormal elements make any story even better, and her worlds are full of ghosts, psychics, shifters, creatures, vampires, monster hunters, and magic.

She's also a huge fan of the TV show Supernatural. (Chibi art by Kamidiox)

Burn
Burn by Morgan Brice Witchbane series #1.5. Paranormal M-M romance and mystery novella. Dual POV. After meeting and saving Evan from a dark warlock’s ritual murders, Seth fell in love. They are headed together to Pittsburgh on the trail of the next killer, the next warlock. It’s a nomadic and dangerous lifestyle and both are concerned that the other may be rethinking their new relationship. In the meantime, there is no shortage of evil that needs to be stopped. It’s a fairly new relationship so there is angst between them, “will he stay” etc. Individually, both are in love. Now, they have to survive the warlocks, ghouls and murderers. Best line: “Shaking ghoul guts off him”

I really enjoyed this Novella by Morgan Brice. I usually prefer the full novel, but this series is so good, I had to have it too. It's such a great and fast read. Love Seth and Evan and how they care about each other so much. Seth is a very interesting hero with special gifts to help destroy evil. Evan is his new boyfriend and will do anything to save him and he has. Just a great read. Morgan Brice has a way with characters. She brings them to life so well. And always love the special friendship they have. Especially Seth and Evan. I recommend it and would give it ten stars if I could.

I wasn’t sure if this was a book I could skip or not, since it’s labelled both 1.5 and 2. So I read it and while it does deepen the bond between the main couple, it doesn’t move the main plot forward. So, if you’re here for the relationship then I’d recommend it. If you’re here for the mission and don’t care about any additional relationship drama, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to skip this one and move straight onto the next full-length book.

Terrific story-line with amazing world-building and lots of action. I loved getting to see more of Evan and Seth. Such a great blending of romance and Urban Fantasy with a wonderful romance to make it wonderful.

This is fun and interesting read. So many different paranormal beings and the lore was fascinating. Great characters and i cannot wait for more of the Witchbane Series series.

There was a lot of action in this story. A surprising amount actually given its length, but under that was the budding relationship between Seth and Evan. Building a relationship from a tense situation is bound to leave you with slot of longevity questions and I'm glad the author addressed that. It was well handled too. Can't wait for the next book!

love, love this series. Love how Seth and Evan are in tune for hunting and how their love is still new. Love the paranormal things that go bump in the night and their descriptions in specific places and how to take them out. Hope this series continues.

A good long read for a novella. This is a good bridge to the next book with more monsters and the guys sorting out stuff. Their relationship finishes in a good place although Seth remains as the insecure one. I have a feeling a human monster named Mike will appear later and cause trouble.

I am really loving this series, which definitely needs to be read in order for maximum enjoyment. This novella is the second in the series and the relationship between Seth and Evan is progressing well but is realistic. There is understandable conflict but, after not too long a time, they talk enough to at least move forward. The monsters hunted in this one are interesting and a little spooky. I noticed only one typing error, and the grammar and punctuation are spot on. On to the next in the series now!
