The Bear and the Heir: BBW Bear Shifter Paranormal Romance (Arcane Affairs Agency) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 51 ratings

When Cole North arrives in Argent Falls to investigate reports of magical storms, he doesn’t expect much to come of it. Not after the series of pointless missions the Arcane Affairs Agency has sent him on recently. This time, though, it’s different. The small town is plagued by bizarre weather, the storms are trying to warn him off, and there are fae running wild. And then there’s Fiona.

No matter how much the bear shifter tries to focus on his mission, he can’t get the hot, curvy girl out of his head. But the fae are after her too – and when they try and kidnap her, Cole’s mission and his feelings for Fiona collide.

Fiona’s dreams have always been full of storms and now they’re following her into the waking world. Pursued by the strange, inhuman fae lords for reasons she doesn’t understand, Cole is her only protection. Fortunately, he’s everything she could want in a protector – and in a man. Strong, sexy and brave, he’s enough to keep her safe and drive her wild.

But when the fae reveal the reason for their interest in her, will even Cole be able to protect Fiona from her past? Or will an inheritance she never knew about tear them apart?

Mysterious weather phenomena appear in a small town. Who or what is causing the severe weather? It's up to the Arcane Affairs Agency to investigate the situation. Image Agent Cole's surprise when he finds out that his mate lives in that same town. Interesting storyline. Strong and sexy main characters. Plenty of romance and nefarious activities. Love this series!

Cole goes to a small town to find out if someone is using magic to create storms as he works for a agency to stop humans from finding out what is really out there. The viewpoint switched back and forth from Fiona to Cole enough so that you felt connected to the characters. Liked how the author brought out both their strengths and weaknesses. Enjoyed the book and it is one that would reread again so gave it five stars. Will have to look for more books about the characters from the agency. This can be read as a stand alone but like me you might want to look for more books involving these protectors.

What a great book - this story has it all. There is romance, suspense, action, shifters - what more could you want. I thought the characters were well developed, had great chemistry and the plot was enjoyable and moved at a quick pace - I had to read it in one sitting. I enjoyed Ms. Chase's writing and would recommend this book and her others to others.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Fiona is being followed by a tall handsome man that keeps trying to charm her into following him. The weather in her town is out of control. Cole works as an agent for a paranormal government agency that sends him to check out the wired weather. Cole finds out it is being caused by the storm fae. The intrigue is wonderful and there is danger afoot for Fiona. Can Cole save her? Loved this book.

All of Leslie Chace's shifter romance's are amazing!. The storylines are exciting and amazing. The characters are fantastic.
Ever sense Finoa could remember her dreams have always had rain in them from sprinkles to raging storms. In her latest dreams there are two men in it one handsome and slender, but creepy, the other one big burly sexy. When she wakes up she finds a large display of flowers just out side her bedroom?. Her roommate wants to know where they came frpm , but Fiona does not know!. Then on the way to work a handsome but strange man follows her. He comes into her shop and calls her princess.
Mean while Cole North a bear shifter agent with the Arcane Affairs Agency kind of a supernatural police. Cole has been sent to Fiona's town of Argent Falls to investigate odd weather happing there. Cole goes to Fiona's book store to get information on any magical sites in town. When the two see each other there is an instant connection!. Later Cole saves Fiona from the creepy guy and his friends. The group turn out to be Fae, and Cole wonders why they are after Fiona?. Can Cole protect her from the Fae?.
You will love this exciting, sweet, suspenseful, and steamy hot romance!. This I'd a must read five star plus book you must read!.

I was introduced to this author through another author who wrote a book for this series. I love these collaborations because I can find new authors easily. After this book, I will read more of this author's work. I did think it was a bit overdone that he couldn't tell her anything and, when his boss found out he told her, it wasn't really an issue. I guess that was because of her background, but it took almost half the book to figure out why she was being harassed. By then, I had already figured it out myself and thought she was a bit slow.

I've read a couple of Leslie's book before, which I thoroughly enjoyed - and this book is just as good and well worth the five stars. It is part of a set called the Arcane society by several different authors and I honestly look forward to reading the rest of the books. Cole is a bear shifter as well as an agent for the arcane society who are like the police for the supernatural. And he been sent on what he thinks is another waste of his time, having previously insulted his boss's wife he'd been given all the pointless missions. And this one involves investigating strange weather reports in Argent Falls following a report from a witch complaining of strange snow storms. Fiona has been having bad dreams involving strange weather including torrential storms where she is being chased by strange men one which seems to be large with the head of a beast the other tall and beautiful but strangely more frightening. I won't tell you any more as I hate reviews which give away the story and spoil it for other readers.
