BACK-DOOR SANTA: A Christmas Valley Romance, Book 8 (Christmas Valley Romances) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 22 ratings

BACK-DOOR SANTA (A Christmas Valley Romance, Book 8)(51,419words)

Does Santa need a chimney?

Spenser Pope is desperate. He’s been trying to have a relationship with Stevie Bell, the CFO of Fruitycakes, for a year with no luck. He needs help! He solicits his no-longer-bachelor friends for advice and what do they tell him? Kiss her!

Stevie had a bad first marriage. Her husband, and her sister Charley’s husband, were cheaters and died in a boating accident with their current flings. She doesn’t want another husband, but there’s something about Spense that curls her toes in a way they’ve never been curled before.

Spense knows how to pick a lock, but can he also unlock Stevie’s frozen heart by Christmas? Maybe...if he can figure out how to bypass the out-of-commission fireplace in the old family homestead so that Santa can deliver presents to Stevie’s triplets.

Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. She has been an avid reader since childhood and penned her first fiction "book" in high school. She particularly likes to write mystery/suspense/thriller with a love story and paranormal or supernatural elements. She is a three-time RWA Golden Heart Finalist. Simas currently has 42 books in print. All are available in both paperback and in ebook format.

An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family's "genealogist" and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from decade's old documents in Italian, she says, has been a supreme but gratifying challenge.

Back door Santa asks the question about how Santa can deliver presents when the fireplace doesn't work. This is a story of a couple who are falling in love. The mom has trust issues and her triplets are concerned about being in a house without a working fireplace Christmas Valley magic helps resolve problems. Come follow the love story.

First, I want to thank Ann Simas for proving me this book so I may bring you this review.

Oh the comical things that ran threw my head when I read the title Back-Door Santa of Ann Simas new book. I knew it
was a Christmas book but I wondered if it was an adult book. However, the cover didn’t seem that risqué. Ann sure did give me a good laugh at the title though.

Santa is not deterred by lack of chimneys or fireplaces that don’t work. He and the reindeer have their ways…
I LOVED this saying by Emily Dickinson The heart wants what it wants-or else it does not care. There is a cute picture above it too.

Once again, Ann has me craving for pizza as the opening of the book they are at the Pizza Palace.

This book interested me from the very beginning when the men were sitting around chatting talking relationship advice. I found it very fascinating and an interesting read to see how the mind of the man works.
I loved the bond between Stevie and Spense that was forming.

This was a fun and cute read.

Another light-hearted Christmas valley story from Ann Simas. Reading previous stories in the Christmas valley series I had hoped Stevie and Spense would finally get together. I enjoyed reading their story and the antics of the two sets of triplets, bit seemed everyone was out to push the two together. Some parts did feel disjointed and drawn out to me but overall it was a good read with loveable characters and good plot twists. A recommended read for lovers of Christmas and cuteness.

Backdoor Santa is such a cute and funny romance novel. You won't be disappointed when picking this book up. She has a way with her characters that I never really see that much in other books. This is part of a series. To understand the importance of the events going on in this book and stuff they talk about. Start with book 1 and work your way up.

Spenser Pope is wishing on the biggest star that Stevie would quit looking at him like he's the devil. He's over the moon about her and wants her for his wife. Only he needs to find a way into her heavily sheltered heart. He dead ex husband did a number on her confidence, but he wants to be the man to pick all those pieces and put her all back together again.

All Stevie can think about lately is Spenser Pope. A slick lawyer who recently moved into town. She doesn't need or want the heartache a man like that can bring into her life. But one by one everything everyone has ever told her of the slick silver tongued devil. Is true. Can she really trust that fluttering heart beat that skips every time she sees him?

Back Door Santa is a quick read. It’s the cute story of Spenser and Stevie. I kept feeling like this was Stevie’s “how she got her groove back” story!

Spense has been waiting for a year to get Stevie to notice him for longer than the length of time it takes to throw out a snarky comment. It takes a lot of intervention from the characters we have learned to love, including Stevie’s triplet daughters. In the end, Stevie realizes that not having Spense in her life is not an option…funny thing is, Spense knew all along!

The ending is perfect and thoroughly romantic. I had only one problem with the story – Stevie’s girls are 10 years old and except for one brief mention of school…they didn’t have school. They spent time working at FruityCakes. It just seemed odd to me and it kind of bugged me!

They have been playing this cat n mice game she is reluctant about getting into a relationship with him. Her daughter's father ruined the trust she has in men. The girls love him too dropping hints to her too. I loved it

I like that because it is written by the same author, it mentions the characters from other books in the same series. This book was different in the fact that it had a bit more mystery and intrigue that the previous books that I read. The author describes the town so well that it makes me want to come to visit. I enjoy seeing the different situations that the author puts the characters in. The author is creative and I never know what might be the premise of her next book. If you like books that are part of a series then you would like this one. I received a free copy from Candid Book Reviews and I voluntarily chose to review it. It is my honest and fair opinion.
