- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2016Pauline I can't wait till three, you have pulled me into thus story I am so totally committed to them ugh. #needthreenow
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2016Could have been s good read. However, the cliffhanger ending is a total turn off. A good writer does not have to rely on such things to make sure you buy another book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2017Lily, Ry, and Casper.
Honesty here. I don't like Casper. I like artists and he's definitely ticking off all the right artist traits, but Lily can do so much better than hanging around this douche.
Ry's pretty decent. Yeah, he has that whole on again off again thing going on, but this time it's Lily trying to help out her man and the foundation he's trying to save. It's sweet, but it looks like it's doomed.
You know.
Roving hands are defeating all best of intentions! Isn't that always the way?
As always, great writing, steamy scenes, and classic (if very familiar) romance situations. :)
Go away, Casper. Even if you have a few good bits in you, you're not a happy ghost. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2019Candlemoth: How To Spend It (2016) by Pauline West is the second book in the steamy, romantic Candlemoth trilogy following the adventures of Lily and Ry.
In this book, there’s a huge love triangle as Lily finds herself the centre of attention with both Ry and musician Casper from book 1. In this book, Lily is trying to save Ry’s foundation and his inheritance and in this she shows how much she cares about him. She even tries to stay away from him for these purposes but that doesn’t last long.
Lily’s bestie Beren and his boyfriend Chandler are also back in this book and are amazing as always and it was good to see more of how their relationship was going. Love those two.
This book deals with a few serious issues like Casper’s depression and drug and alcohol dependencies. There is many incidents which don’t paint Casper in a great light in this book but he is at a very bad point in his life and I hope with time he can get it together and find happiness. Not with Lily as she is with Ry but happiness in some way within himself.
Like book one, we end on a cliffhanger. I kind of knew from book 1 that we would but I wasn’t expecting the cliffhanger we did end on to say the least! The end turns into something out of a mystery thriller which I found fantastic because it mixes my two favourite genres romance and mystery together.
An excellent read just like the first book. Very hard to put down once you start reading and a wonderful look at human dynamics from various different angles.
Looking forward to book 3 which I will be reviewing here.
I received an ARC from the author, with no obligation to review.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2016Just as enthralling as the first novel! I read it in one sitting. Ready for #3 and more!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2016Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left off, only now, Lily is attempting to break-up with Ry in an effort to keep him from being disinherited and losing his foundation. Add in the wacky but hysterical best friend (Beren) and his partner (Chandler) and Lily is once again a force to be reckoned with! I'm not always crazy about cliffhangers, but because of how book 1 ended, I expected it with this one and cannot wait for book 3 to see "how the story ends"
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2016Great follow on from the first story...which picks up right where it left off in book 1. Ray is such a sweetheart and will follow his love Lily anywhere even if she for his own good tries to push him away! Their chemistry once again sizzles and the story is full of surprises for all the characters... Again your left wanting more with a heart stopping conclusion to a very dramatic story.. Can't wait for book 3.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2016This is a fantastic book, it continues from book 1 smoothly and easily. It is a fast paced book with heaps of suspense, emotion and some twists to keep you on your toes.
Book 3 can't come quick enough!
