- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2017Carolina Crush by Gwendolyn Grace is the third book in her Drive me Wild novella series. This book is a step-brother romance that is quite sweet in it's storyline and doesn't cross any boundaries that shouldn't be crossed.
Tayia has been in love with Blake since she was 12 years old. Nothing changed that fact even as she is done with high school and living in the real world. Not even the marriage of their parents (to each other) dampened the strength of her love, only the appearance of it. Fortunately (or unfortunately, in the beginning) Blake also has strong feelings for Tayia but he believes that it is wrong. She is his sister, at least by marriage.
With a lot of story very well-packed into the shorter length of a novella this story was perfectly paced and well-written. I enjoyed seeing a different view of Tayia and Blake in their story and getting to still see characters from the past two books, Carolina Hurricane and Carolina King. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2017I devoured this book. I enjoyed the whole series but I kind of feel like this one was my favorite. It was worth the wait.
If you haven't read this book or series, I highly recommend you do.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2019I enjoyed all of the books in this series, but this was my favorite.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2017This is the third book in the Drive Me Wild Series and definitely worth the wait. Tayia has been in love with Blake since she can remember and even told him one day she would marry him. Blake lives across the street and his mother help take care of her because her dad worked a lot. One day all of Tayia's dreams are shattered when her dad and Blake's mom announce they are getting married. This ends her dream of marrying Blake but does not turn off her feelings for him. She knows deep down that he is the one but thinks it is only one sided, that is until one night, in a cabin where the two of them find themselves alone.
Blake is just a young boy and knows that Tayia is just the girl next door. Now that their parents are married he knows he should not have feelings for his sister, Tayia. When he goes off to college he tries to date other girls and forget he has feelings for Tayia. He even moves a girl in with them when he moves back home. But nothing can turn his feelings off, well until he finds out Tayia is hiding a secret.
When Blake goes to confront Tayia about the secret she is not alone but basically in the arms of another man. Now Blake is furious and is scheduled to race. Racing is his passion but also illegal. Being pissed while racing is a disaster in the making. Tayia tries to get to him before he races but can't. When Blake has a accident during the race and ends up in the hospital, he must find the courage to heal but not just physically but figure out his relationship with Tayia.
This book definitely leads up to the other Drive Me Wild books. I would definitely recommend this book. It can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the others first.- Linda
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2017I was so excited when I found out there was another addition to the Drive Me Wild series by Gwendolyn Grace. I fell in love with the other stories in this series and couldn't wait to read Tayia and Blake's story in Carolina Crush.
Let me just say, Carolina Crush, is so darn good. All of the feels and emotions, waiting to see what was going to happen with Tayia and Blake. Gwendolyn Grace poured her heart and soul into them, making it my favorite.
I also enjoyed being reunited with Jonna and Harley and those sexy racers. This story took me back to the time I'd just gotten out of high school and was forming those life-long bonds with friends--those that would always have a special place in my heart regardless of where we ended up in life. This cast of characters have the same loyalty--they're genuine and will have your back all the way til the end.
Such an awesome addition to this series!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2017I totally enjoyed everything about this story!
Blake and Tayia meet in their early teens as neighbours and it is instant attraction for Tayia and Blake 'puts up' with his new younger friend quite well! They grow up together but not really together.
This is a sweet love story that touches on a sensitive subject brilliantly. It is a fast paced story with great descriptions of both characters and events, including the scenery. I have to admit it sounds like a wonderful place to visit and I had fun visiting in my head with the story. I liked how the characters are so different yet friends.
Real emotions are felt when reading this story and they make you feel a part of the book. Great job Gwendolyn Grace I sure I will read this again enjoying it each time.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2017I just love this series, they're quick reads that you can easily indulge in. Tayia’s love for Blake goes far back, back before there parents got together. If you’ve read the previous books than you’ve see little bits of Tayia and Blake, those did bits are what made me so excited for this book. When I heard that Gwendolyn was releasing this book I might have actually done a giddy little dance. I couldn’t wait.
It was a great sweet read, there’s angst but it’s not too crazy. It’s steamy and perfectly sweet….sigh, Blake. This is 3rd in a series and can be read ok by itself but you’ve got to read the rest of the series if you haven't yet. I highly recommend them for weekend reads or vacation reads.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2017I am a Big FAN of this Series and I have been waiting to read Blake and Tayia's Story and I Really Enjoyed reading it. It was So Good. Gwendolyn Grace has outdone herself with this novella will pull you in and you'll find it really hard to put it down.
I Would Highly Recommend all the Readers to read this amazing novella right now.
