Catch a Falling Star (In Love in the Limelight Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 99 ratings

When TV star Wendy Hunter is about to have her most closely guarded secret viciously exposed by the paparazzi, she desperately tosses out a juicy bone to distract them: she announces her engagement to southern high school football coach Colin Scott. One problem. She's not really engaged to him. In fact, she barely knows him. Um ... barely. But will one unforgettable night last year be enough to get him to go along with her charade?

Wendy goes to Louisiana and discovers that Colin is not so thrilled to be suddenly "engaged" to her. He's got some secrets of his own that she and her very public life are putting in serious jeopardy. Still, he agrees to her fake engagement ... as long as she agrees to play by his rules. Let the games begin.

This is the second romatic comedy in the In Love in the Limelight series.

A great story reminiscent of the old sit coms. This is a fast paced wild and quirky read. Geralyn Corcillo always entertains me. This story is sweet and funny with many twists and turns, It works well as a stand alone book but it is nice to get updates on characters from other books. I never start one of Geralyn's books late at night because I will not be able to put it down until I have finished it. She never disappoints.

    This was a fun read!

Geralyn Corcillo has kicked another goal with Catch a Falling Star, if you'll pardon the cheesy pun. With her third full length novel, Corcillo not only reminds her fans that she is going from strength to strength, she reassures them she'll continue to keep it fresh and ridiculously entertaining. Catch a Falling Star includes the kinds of crazy antics (and their spectacular back-fires) that we've come to expect from Corcillo, but it also shows her diversity.

These characters are different than the ones we've come to know and love in her earlier work. Colin is serious - serious about his team, serious about his family and seriously into Wendy Hunter, as much as he doesn't want to admit it. Wendy is determined - determined to protect those she loves, determined to protect her career and reputation and determined to keep Colin at arms length. The ride these two take you on as they learn how to let each other in is anything but serious and determined though. It's messy, funny and as out there as you'd expect, coming from Corcillo.

With a fabulous supporting cast of familiar faces and some new friends thrown into the mix, Catch a Falling Star is like a Saturday night dinner party with old friends. It's familiar and fun, and you don't want it to end.

I have to confess that I love Geralyn Corcillo's writing, which means I'm predisposed to like her books. This book was so much fun to read. It can be read as a stand alone, but for those who have read any of Ms. Corcillo's other books, the incorporation of characters from those books enhances the enjoyment of this one. I love some of the quirky fun of it, the mental references to urban legends for instance and the humorous fun with language usage (bread basket and it's meaning). I loved the variety of perspectives in this book. It was a fresh take and brought so much to the story to see it from so many different eyes all looking at the same situation and each picking up on different aspects of it. I alternately laughed out loud, cringed, hoped and celebrated. I don't want to post any spoilers in this review. I will simply say that the plot continued to surprise me and I would never have envisioned the end as it played out, but was delighted with it.

I'm not good at reviews. Writing what I feel about a book I've read. I haven't even completely finished this 3rd book in this series yet but I am loving it so much I had to stop and tell someone how much I was enjoying it. I usually don't like books that go and forth with each chapter narrated from a different character but that makes this book so much better. I love how it just picked up right where the last book finished without a cliff hanger in the last book. And how the main characters from the last book, even tho not the main characters of this book, still have a pivotal roll in this book and just forgotten or are just background noise, bit you actually still are involved in their on going lives as well....and that how it feels, like 'you' are involved in everyone's lives and totally invested in the outcome, not just reading and something going on somewhere to someone. You there right with them every step of the way.....well I gotta get back to it. I can't just Wendy and Colin hanging. Hope #4 is coming out soon or I may just have to write myself so I'm not going crazy wondering what's next. I'm really thinking Ray & Dan's friend that took the picture of everyone at Lola & Arlyn's wedding in book 2 need to be together.....I don't know why, I Ray & Tom were supposed to head over heels but as soon as he mentioned I just thought Ray.....maybe I should I should drop Geralyn Corcillo a line......lol

Corcillo delivers sweet and comic surprises in this fast-moving, contemporary, fresh and upbeat rom-com. Wendy and Colin and the ensemble of characters whose alternating first-person voices and points of view advance the narrative are real, vulnerable, funny, and full of heart. Corcillo's plot is cinematic in its cleverness and her characters are full of life and love. Looking forward to the next installment!

This was a fun romantic comedy with wonderful characters. I loved the premise and all the ups and downs leading to a lovely conclusion. There was so much I liked about the story and it was told with lots of humor. I love the concocted words. I also liked how characters from one book makes it to this one as well as this story told from various characters point of view. Highly recommend this and Miss Adventure. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Wendy Hunter has it all- she's a gorgeous and super successful TV star, but she's got some secrets that she wants to keep well, secret!! Why is she using a nice guy like Colin to further her own career? That's a secret!! Why is she hiding out in a suburban home so far from Los Angeles? That's another secret! You have to read this wonderful book from extremely talented author Corcillo. It's light and fast-paced but don't be fooled- it's a real page turner!! It's #3 in a series, but I would read it first, then go back and read the first two...or binge read'em all. Either way, you'll be thoroughly entertained!
