Amazon Bestselling author Faith-Ann Smith has always loved to write. As a child, she enjoyed penning simple tales about prairie life in her home state of Oklahoma. While in college, Faith-Ann became fascinated with American history, particularly of the 19th century, and began to write creative historical fiction in her late twenties. Blessed with a loving husband and two precious children, Faith-Ann enjoys knitting, teaching Sunday School and tending to the flower beds surrounding her home in Nebraska.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2017I really enjoyed this clean, Historical romance. I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 5* rating. This heroine was a civil War Nurse. She is gutsy, stubborn, and kind hearted. The hero is basically a good guy, caught in a bad situation. This has a few twists and turns and a real nice ending. There are also some bonus stories with this story, so you get a little more for your money. So I'm on to the next story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2018As a nurse I find it interesting to read about the beginning of nursing, how nurses were the beginning of hygiene practices and how they had to fight for safe, clean practices, as well as respect. From society thinking unmarried nurses were sluts, to the respect now held for them. All the couples in these stories had different yet similar experiences. I was eager to read the next persons' story.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2017This turned out to be a short novella followed by a whole bunch of shorter stories. All of them are missing crucial details that would make the stories work better or be more interesting. The length of the stories makes a nice diversion if your reading periods are short and you need quick entertainment before moving on to the next thing. Buyer beware.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2017The first story was ok. I enjoyed it and would give it 3 stars all by itself. It's not long and is not really a mail order bride story. It did lack depth and had an odd writing style but was ok. Then I read the second and third and just couldn't believe how weird these story's were. Sickeningly sweet, cheesy to the holycheese ballness and written like a text book instead of a romance. They were not well done, but were very very clean. I can't imagine reading 25 of these.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2017Cate's Change of heart is another wonderful book by Faith-Ann Smith. While in the midst of a terrifying ordeal, Cate uses her quick mind to save a life, and is subsequently kidnapped. If that were not enough, her kidnapper is shot and she must use her skills as a nurse to save his life if she has any chance of getting out of her situation.
The story moves quickly, but does not rush and lose detail as some novels do. The the conflict and compassion of the characters keeps things lively and interesting.
One of the things I enjoyed in this book, as well as in several of Faith-Ann's other books, is the characters use of natural herbs and plants to help their patients. As someone who uses natural medicine, its refreshing to read about it stories such as this.
This was a very enjoyable novel and a great wrap up to a great series. I believe you will thoroughly enjoy it as much as I have.
I received an advanced review copy of this book for review consideration. All of my statements in this review are my true and honest opinions.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2017I just downloaded her "Nurses of Civil War" books for the fist time and while she has great storylines for this series of books, they all end abruptly. There is so much farther Faith Smith could take her stories but instead chooses to end them quickly and to me, is very frustrating and annoying. If she wants to stop writing as a "hobby" and write "professionally" she should consider finishing her books like a true novelist.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2017I really loved this book, the story line was amazing. Cate's incredible compassion for her kidnapper was beyond kind. What is Michael's secret? Why did he take Cate off the train? Did he take the bullet meant for her? What about Violet, did the train robbers find her? Oh my what questions. Do you want the answers? Well the best way to have them answered is to get the book and read it for yourself.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. I recommend this book highly, it is a fantastic book, the characters are wonderful. I would buy the book myself if I could afford to. Why? Because I think it's so good that I want to read it over and over again.
So do yourself a favor and get the book and review it, I know you won't be disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2017Loved this book. It was a totally different spin on the usual mail order brides book, and I just couldn't put it down. This would have to be my favourite mail order bride book of all of them, and I read a lot so that really means something. I did wonder though, (hopefully not a spoiler) how, in real life 2 women in the same house would get on, when one had driven the other one silly in a few hours on a train ride. Recommend this book to everyone, well worth reading. Too short as usual for mail order bride books, I love sagas, but such a great read. I received a free copy of the book from the author. This review is voluntary.
