- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020Another fantastic love story centered around the Gold hockey team. I loved getting to know Mia and Liam in this story. Mia had become so stuck in her routine never letting anyone into her heart due to per past. Liam felt like he was always living in the shadow of his family and he's been trying to find his place with the Gold after joining them recently. This was a slow burn romance which was suited to them building their relationship. If you love hockey romance, you will love this book and series!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2022Very good series... Love all the characters....love the theme of the books....very good author...love reading her books...need to try them
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020Centered is such a fantastically fun read. If you loved the Gold Hockey series then you really are going to like the newbie Liam in this one. Liam is so lost and trying to figure out how to fit in with his teammates. He is a sweetheart and trying to find the love of the game again. Then bam Mia and there is no looking back. You will love Mia and how she is not afraid to put Liam in his place. There is such a pull between Mia and Liam that you wont be able to step away form this one. I love how they bring out the best in each other. I couldn't get enough of Mia and Liam.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020The two main characters, Liam and Mia, learn to be their true selves as they get to know each other. For years Liam has been dealing with feeling less - less talented, less successful than his grandfather, dad and 2 older brothers who have all had Hall of Fame-worthy NHL careers. He has closed himself off from his teammates for years because he doesn’t want to get attached only to be hurt when he is once again traded.
Mia suffered a tragic loss in her past and learned to not want or ask for more than the bare necessities in life. She goes about her life eliminating any fluff. These two meet when Mia pulls Liam out of the street when he is inches from being hit by a car, dropping him on his ass.
This event shakes something loose for him and he opens his eyes to the gorgeous women who saved him. He notices her opening up her storefront and follows her, discovering she owns a karate studio. He helps her get things set up for her class and ends up staying and watching all evening. Mia ends up knocking him on his butt when he doesn’t listen to her message not to touch.
As they spend more time together they start realizing things about themselves they didn’t realize they had lost. Their romance was the result of a freak near accident that altered their paths and changed them for the better. The storyline is centered around them both opening up.
I enjoyed getting to know both of these characters. The story moves at a quick pace and is very engaging. Many of the characters from previous books in the Gold Hockey series make appearances and add to the enjoyment of this story. Having only previously read the first book in the series I didn’t feel lost or like I was missing anything having not read the other books, and while this is a standalone I definitely want to go and read the other books now.
I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading others by this author. I’m giving this 5 stars because I feel like this story was more than a hockey romance, it touched emotions and the characters development moved me. It also inspired me to want to read more by this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020Liam and Mia are both struggling. Liam is afraid that he isn’t going to be resigned with the hockey team he plays for, thus disappointing his family. As well as, not living up to his last name. Mia is trying to get past the guilt she has of her mother’s death. When Mia saves Liam both of their lives change forever.
I really liked how Liam knew he needed Mia in his life but went slow. I also liked how he got her to be his friend an open up little by little. Mia was a hard nut to crack. She had so much guilt that she believed she didn’t deserve to be happy. As she started letting Liam in, she started realizing some hard truths.
Liam was sweet, patient and kind. Mia was hard, frustrating at times and loyal. His dad irritated me until the talk. I really enjoyed this book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2020The Gold Hockey series continues to be a huge winner for me! Centered had a good balance between the sexy and the not (lol) and the plot unfolded nicely without any major holes.
Liam and Mia completed each other really well. In the story, both had hurdles to jump/get past in order to move forward in their own lives, let alone as a couple, and they brought out the best of each other. They enhanced each other equally. They were the exact thing each needed to become better. It put a smile on my face and in my heart! I was rooting for them from the beginning.
Elise Faber is an author I just can’t seem to get enough of. She writes all kinds of tropes and are always good reads. She’s an author I know I can turn to and have an enjoyable, engaging read every time!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2020Some meetings are fate. He was list in his head, unheeding the traffic or really anything. Someone shouts for him to “watch out”. Suddenly he’s grabbed and thrown back. Who would think a tiny beauty could toss him out of traffic?
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020Liam is the youngest Williamson, which means he has huge shoes to fill. Two older brothers who played in the NHL and were really good, his dad and grandfather too.. He knows he isn't anywhere near as good as they are but he doesn't need the constant reminders.
Mia is just trying to survive and run her MMA studio.. Her mom passed away 10 years ago and her dad 5 years ago.. When she meets Liam it is under life saving circumstances.. As much his as hers it turns out.
These two truly see each other and not just in the physical manner. They grow in so many ways together they just make each other stronger. Loved watching this love story form.
