Overview

Jesus returns to Earth and again finds that those with good intentions have lost their way and become something dangerous. Joining with Magdalene, an ecological activist, he witnesses an extremist group's plot to destroy a maize plantation due to fears that it genetically modifies its plants, a revolt against a tourist development set to be built in a forest reserve, and an armed battle between two oppressed groups who have now turned on each other. He attempts to bring peace to the hearts of those who are hurting, but once again faces the fury of those he came to help. Tragically, he is unable to escape the fury of mankind. And only a con man will recognize him.

Using humor, Jesus and Magdalene broaches the recent phenomena of social and political conflict. Award winning author Joao Cerqueiro smirks at conventional taboos like religion and political correctitude, and like the great satirists of old, provokes us to laugh at things we feel like we shouldn't in order to better look though issues in the face. Easily one of the funniest, most controversial books Line By Lion Publications has published to date, it is one of our fondest wishes to get "Banned in Boston" thanks to Jesus and Magdalene.
