Change For The Worse (Pollard & Toye Investigations Book 11) Kindle Edition
A botched burglary leads to murder…
The impressive estate of Fairlynch Manor is struggling to attract visitors. So its trustee, Katherine Ridley, suggests hosting an event showcasing artworks owned by the locals in the surrounding English village of Wellchester.
All seems to be going well until a shock visitor surprises Katherine.
And then, the next morning, the warden Francis Peck is found dead in the manor house.
Five of the paintings are also missing – but none of them appear to have been very valuable.
Scotland Yard's Chief Superintendent Pollard and Detective Inspector Toye struggle to unravel the mystery.
Who was the man who shocked Katherine? Why was nothing valuable stolen from Fairlynch?
And was the death of the warden an accident – or murder…?
Change For The Worse is the eleventh cosy village mystery in the Pollard & Toye crime series: an intriguing police procedural set in rural England.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2019What a joy to come across a Pollard and Toye mystery I hadn't read before. I've been a fan for years, but this one was new to me. It may not become one of my absolute favorites, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it may have dragged a little in the beginning, but it certainly picked up at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly intriguing
Another gripping episode in the Pollard and Toye series of crime stories. The unexpected death of the popular caretaker, at the same time as the burglary of several paintings on exhibition at Fairlynch Manor points to more than a coincidence. Most entertaining.
