Rising Tide: An MM Small Town Beach Vacation Romance (The Changing Tides Trilogy Book 1) Kindle Edition
Harris is desperate for a distraction. As a cardiac surgeon, he’s used to complications, but the malpractice lawsuit he faces cuts deeper than a scalpel. Shipped off to a small beach town to “let the lawyers handle it,” he finds his cure in a hot blond hunk. Too bad Harris isn’t the kind of person who deserves to be happy.
Reid’s policy is simple: Never get involved with a tourist. They come, they bring their money, they leave. It’s served his restaurant—and his heart—well. But this sexy new visitor gets Reid going on every level. And there’s nothing he can do to resist.
As their time grows short, their desires deepen into something neither expected. But their affair cannot continue, and they try to dampen their love in vain. When it threatens to consume them, will they fight the rising tide or give in to it?
Welcome to The Changing Tides Inn, the perfect getaway for those looking for a little romance on their vacation. Rising Tide is the first 73,000 word novel documenting the inn’s (and owner’s) impact on the lives of its guests and can be read as a standalone. Follow the guests’ adventures and be assured there will always be a happily ever after.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2020What a beautiful beginning to this series. The storyline is enough to capture your attention but does not overwhelm the reader with too many twists and turns. While it may be considered a May/December romance to some, I find that other than the few times Harris mentions his age, you don’t even really take age into consideration. More emphasis is put on the development of the relationship between him and Reed and less on the disparity of age. Bryce does a wonderful job setting up for the next in the series and I, for one, cannot wait to delve in and see Linc get his HEA. This review is an unbiased and honest reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy although I did also purchase the book for my personal library.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2020Too bad that Harris had to leave L. A. because of what happened in surgery of a patient. But he met Reid and they fell in love and he found a great job closer to where he and Reid would be living together. Even though a lot of things happened that weren’t so good but then they wouldn’t have met. Love this book!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2020Exciting exciting adventure. Oh this was sooo good. Loved the fun adventure in this storyline. You have a over worked Doctor on vacation and a restaurant owner who stays away from the tourists to protect his heart, but love can’t be denied. This was a super fun exciting adventure loved it hope there is more to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2018The story of Harris and Reid definitely deserves a much higher rating, but 5 stars equal a wow rating for me. These cool hot guys will have you reaching for a cloth to either dry your eyes or other body fluids! It more than made up for not getting any sleep until I finished reading. Most definitely a much read!

What a great start to a series. I fell in love with this story as easily as Harris ended up falling in love with Seaside, Oregon. He was correct; his PA needs a raise. Maggie is a godsend, despite only meeting her through phone conversations, and hearing Harris talk about her to Reid.
Harris is struggling after a tragedy on his operating table. What should have been simple and easy, went horribly wrong, instead, and he has no idea why. To make matters worse, he’s slapped with a lawsuit and a forced leave of absence. His PA, being her wonderful self, sent him off to Seaside, to get out of the crossfires. It’s all out if his hands at this point anyways. I really felt for Harris. I wanted to hug him and reassure him. Thankfully, he happened by a blond Adonis, who also volunteered for the job of comforting the broken man. While Harris pushed for more, Reid tried very hard to resist the man. Which got harder and harder to do. They had a connection that was such a bad idea, but oh so impossible to deny. Eventually, they both slip into the ‘I will think about it later’ mindset. Casual always becomes messy, and rejection is inevitable. They both deal with past hurts that drive these fears.
The character development was incredibly done. I could see why Reid stayed in Seaside even after growing up. It’s the perfect town. I cannot wait to read more books in this series, as I’ve fallen in book love with the men, and women, we met. Reid and Harris are absolutely adorable. Their hearts are golden, and I could easily befriend them in real life. I wish they were real, anyways.
The storyline flowed well and was easy to get lost in. I was aggravated when I had to put the book down. It was torture waiting until I could read it again. It was pretty steamy, too. They were DEFINITELY compatible, there. Wowza. Bryce Winters did a really good job with the book and has me on edge until I can read the next book. I’m ready to find out what happens with Lincoln, Dylan, Jake, Sasha, Julie, and Grayson. I hope I don’t have to wait too long. I’m not very patient when I love the characters...lol.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2020This sweet, entertaining and dramatic. Harris is a heart surgeon, but he's taking some forced time to himelf after being sued for malpractice after one of his patients tragically dies during a surgery. Reid is trying to keep his mother's dream alive by running his restaurant the same way she had run hers. They happen to pass each other on Harris's way into town and they were both caught up with the other. When Harris ends up at Reids restaurant that night the flirt for a while, then Reid shuts it down. This happens repeatedly, much to Harris's frustration. They eventually start hanging around with each other, and slowly falling in love. But, Harris lives in L.A.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2020In this story Harris and Reid find one another and, though they may have their struggles, their connection is lovely. Drama, yes, romance, yes, definitely and a HEA, absolutely. An introduction to Lincoln from book two is terrific. The romance aspect is fun to watch develop, the drama, both from the relationship and Harris’ work situation brings a nice amount of butterflies and their journey to a happy ending is very enjoyable. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2020Such a sweet and romantic slow burn!
Reid is a younger man who knows, from experience, getting involved with tourists for a fling isn’t the best route to go.
Harris the older man who’s life is in chaos and thinks he’s too old for younger Reid.
You could cut the sexual tension with a knife between these two! Not only are the MC’s wonderfully written, but so are the supporting characters. As much as Harris has fallen in love with Seaside, so have I. I cannot wait to dive into the rest of this series!
