    So there I was, minding my own business and flipping through my amazon recommendations, when this hot little number caught my eye. Now, the 'Zon has let me down in the past with regards to new to me authors, but after reading Charm School After Dark: Lesson 1 I’m happy to say all those failures are forgiven.

    The Calvo Quads, together again.

    Caelen Calvo, otherwise known as “baby C” or one fourth of the Calvo Quads, has run into some serious bad luck. After losing her childhood mentor and friend, Ms. Belle, as well as being fired and publicly humiliated by her still married boss/boyfriend, she’s left wondering just what the hell she did to p*ss Karma off.

    The one bright spot in her quagmire of suckitude is the chance to take over Ms. Belle’s Charm School and pick up where her dear friend left off. It turns out Ms. Belle was making plans to start teaching classes of certain ahem sexual nature to supplement the school’s dwindling income and if Caelen wants a shot at running the place, she’s going to have to bite the bullet and instruct some sexy classes. First lesson: B.Js! Where’s a newly single girl to find a willing man to test out BJ techniques with?

    Dare Lagos has always had a thing for Caelen Calvo. As teens at Ms. Belle’s they butted heads more than they got along, but his feelings for Caelen always ran hot and deep. After overhearing Caelen’s plan to find a man to experiment with, Dare’s first in line to volunteer. With no other prospects on the horizon, Caelen’s forced to accept her frenemy’s offer.

    I’ve been a little disappointed with the Contemporary Romance genre as of late but this book slapped me straight out of my funk. From the description you’d think this was just another excuse to cram as many sex scenes as possible into a story but luckily that’s not the case. I love me some hot book sexytimes but I need a little plot to go along with my smut.

    Luckily as far-fetched as the premise is, it worked here. The oral practice sessions took a back seat to Caelen and Dare connecting again and dealing with the many many relationship issues they both had. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of hotness to be had, it just didn’t overwhelm the story.

    And my favorite thing about discovering this new to me author? Ms. Carmer can write. Really well, in fact. It sounds like an obvious enough thing for a writer to be able to tackle, but I swear it’s a lost art based on some of the books I’ve read lately. Getting to know Caelen, Dare and the rest of the Calvo Quads was fun and left me wanting more of this series.

    After finishing this I’m left with only one question: When do we get Baby B, Brynn’s story? Reading about the slightly uptight college professor getting her sex toy instruction on should be all kinds of fun.

Carmer's book is excessively sexy, but her writing is skillful and the scenes some reviewers described as porn, are actually filled with sentiment and yearning and connection and description so rich you can "see" Caelen and Dare having SENSUAL AND MEANINGFUL sex. Thank goodness there is so much of this love-making, because it is a serious turn-on. I had to read several scenes aloud to my husband -- just because. I love this writer's style. BUT, I had so much fun with this one, that I fully intend to read the rest.

    I love Caelen and Dare! The chemistry was off the charts! Caelen isn't the type of woman to sit still and keep quiet about anything. She will go toe to toe with anyone who challenges her, especially Dare. Caelen has a serious obsession with shoes and is extremely hard working. Even though she is confident, she has self esteem issues that she needs to work on. Dare is just the right man to help her work through them. Tormentingly sexy dare has a way with works that brings woman to their knees. He just the type of book boyfriend you dream of spending your time with, especially after the lights go out. When Caelen is in danger of losing her childhood home away from home, the one man she can't seem to stand is the only man that can help her same it. But the plan may put them in some very compromising and pleasurable positions ;).

    Lynn is an incredibly talented writer. I was hooked from the first chapter. Her characters are hilarious and you never know what they might say or do next. This is the first book I've read from Lynn and you can bet that it won't be my last.

    This is the first book I've read by Lynn Carmer and I couldn't stop reading. This book was fantastic and just my sort of story. I loved meeting the sisters and can't wait to read each of their stories as the series progresses. I really felt for Caelen who judged herself so harshly and felt that she didn't deserve to be happy after making a massive mistake with her last relationship. Dare was just the guy to break down the walls built by Caelen, and he has the patience needed when dealing with all the sisters lol.

    Charm School After Dark: Lesson 1 does have some very hot under the collar scenes, but it also has an amazing storyline that will keep you gripped throughout. You may also discover a few new things as you join Caelen on her research and seeing her test out the techniques she's discovered. It'll be interesting to see how the other sisters deal with the ‘work’ required for each of their lessons. We also get glimpses in this book of what secrets the other sisters could be hiding, and you'll be left wanting to jump straight into book 2 to see what Brynn is up to.

    If you haven't already read this series, then I recommend you start it today as you won't be disappointed.

    I enjoyed this book. It was a fun, sexy and educational little read. It certainly gave me a few ideas. Ha Ha!!
    But seriously I loved Dare he a strong Alpha Male type of character. He's been hurt in the past and doesn't trust women in general now.
    He's always had a thing for Caelen Calvo one of the quads he grew up with. They parted ways years ago but now they are back to help out at the Charm School where they all hung around growing up.
    Caelen needs help with some extra curricular activity to keep the Charm School afloat and Dare is only to happy to help her out in any way he can.
    He just needs to convince her he's the man for the job.
    The characters were all entertaining and I loved the quads. I'm looking forward to hearing more on them individually.
    A great start to a series that I'm sure will be amazing. Looking forward to the next instalment.
