    This book started it as a slow read for me, as I'm not typically into this type of book. At first, I compared this story to another author. But when I finally sat down and really getting into the story, it became so much more! I don't tend to read the darker romances such as this, but sometimes I find that I can't resist, and I'm glad I was given the chance to discover this story. I took frequent breaks between the first several parts of this book, just to give my brain and heart a break. This story was so draining on me physically, but was well rewarded as it got further into the story. I'm glad I took the risk and read it, and now u want to go right back in and read it again!!! Josie Litton did such an amazing job in this story!!!

    Grace Delaney was born into a family of wealth and power where everyone was controlled by her grandmother. After learning a devastating truth, she is determined to settle a debt and then make her own way, cutting all ties with her family. When she meets the dark and dangerous Adam Falzon she knows he’s to be resisted. However, her family have other ideas.

    Adam has a sinister plan that involves America’s Princess, Grace Delaney. As he takes step toward fulfilling those plans he must determine if Grace will be able to withstand all that he has in store for her. With a deadly past and generations of influence and wealth behind him, he is unstoppable.

    Grace was sweet and docile yet chafing to break free from the prison she has lived in all her life. Watching her grow from that meek personality into a woman who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect those she loves was as beautiful as it was angst filled.

    I loved the way Adam protected Grace, even from his on machinations, never understanding why he did so. He was scared for her to see the monster inside him and was often afraid he had driven her away. That bit of insecurity made me love him more.

    This was a nail biter of a story. The further into the book I read the more intense the action grew. The obstacles this couple faced were fraught with danger and life and death choices.

    This is not a fast read and admittedly there were several instances where I skimmed over introspection that had already been previously shared. However, it is an amazing story with mystery and intrigue, a feeling of darkness in the beginning and a wonderful love story to pull it all together. There was some push and pull from the heroine, but in my opinion, it was completely understandable.

    Altogether a great book which I would instantly recommend to anyone who likes a nice long read filled with drama, suspense, plenty of steam and romance.

    Josie Litton's Chosen series is as dark as it is beautiful. Her characters are beautifully flawed and real.

    Grace Delaney is "America's Princess". Its a persona her politically powerful family has created that she despises. She once chafed under the title, but now that she's beginning to understand how rotten the core of her family is, the more she wants out.

    Adam Falzon is very much the fierce predator his name implies. He's a man out of time, more suited to bygone era where might made right, and those with strength wield all the power.

    Yet, both Grace and Adam live in the 21st century.

    In this dark romance, Adam seeks to use Grace as a pawn, to bring down her family, only to have the tables turned on him. What he thought was a tool, has now become indispensable. Grace has always understand how little value she holds in her family. All she wants is to find a way to get out. Yet, when she's given the opportunity, she finds the inner strength to stand up. She's not who she thought she was, but she discovers she so much more.

    Can you move past your beginning to create something beautiful out darkness? Can you become more than the sum of your experiences? Litton takes on these questions and more in her Chosen series. Her characters are far from perfect and, at times, make some horrible choices, but in the end, they find out who they really are, deep in their core. It was a journey full of danger and madness, but worth it in the end.

    Very good story line that held this reader's interest until the end. I am unaccustomed to reading dark romances but found romantic times within the overall rather brutal living style of the main male character. The main female character has many family members yet they are not all that close. This story certainly held a lot of intrigue, mystery and reblliosness. The two main male and female characters do end up with a happily-ever-after. Very intense reading.
