Christmas in Eastport Kindle Edition

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

A sweet romance novella from USA TODAY bestselling author Susan R. Hughes.

A holiday visit to her hometown of Eastport brings Carly Nolan face to face with a part of her past she’d rather forget. That face belongs to Mitch Logan, the boy who broke her heart when they were seventeen. When their reunion leads to one passionate night, Carly is convinced that Mitch has changed and dreams of a fresh start with her first love. But after rumours and revelations shatter her illusions, she resolves to leave Mitch in her past for good—a pledge that becomes impossible to keep when it turns out there are not just two hearts on the line, but three.

I'm a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and historical romance. Nothing gets my heart pumping like a good love story with absorbing emotion, plenty of passion, and an old-fashioned happy ending. That’s why I write romance, and I’m excited to share these stories with you. Set mainly in Canada, my novels explore the extraordinary thrill of finding that special someone and falling head over heels in love. I hope you’ll enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them. I live in Ottawa, Ontario.

I've read just about everything this author has written. I keep raving about her Christmas romances because they're topnotch--Hallmark should be knocking on her door.

She has a way with characters. She creates flawed people, but at the same time she makes them people we understand and subsequently root for. In Christmas in Eastport, her latest Christmas romance, Carly Nolan is living a life that's out of control. She's unhappy, and it shows. When she reluctantly returns to her hometown, she runs into her first love. To her surprise, she still has feelings for Mitch even though he broke her heart.

They re-connect but just when you think there's going to be a quick happily-ever-after ending, the author turns the tables on you. Carly and Mitch have to work for that HEA--just the way real people do.

This book was edgy enough that I think fans of New Adult fiction will love it as much as romance readers.

This is wonderful holiday romance read.
Back home in Eastport to spend the holidays with her family, Carly heads out to catch up with a girlfriend when she runs into...Mitch, the boy she'd left town to get away from that summer 18 years ago. Stomachs tumble and smiles heat things up quickly between these two.

I enjoyed seeing Carly grow and open up enough to trust Mitch as they revisited their painful past and ultimately rekindle their relationship. I was also so glad to see Carly finally stop sabotaging her love life because, quite frankly, Mitch is a doll. Loved him!
