    The second book brings more talent to our main character and continues to show us how she works with friends to keep the city safe from those who wish for a different outcome.     In this series, Holmberg makes his character likeable as she discovers her path and power. To me, the best of his various series that don't focus on dragons, which I feel are his best books. While set in the Chainbreaker universe, his character development is better than that in Chainbreaker.
