COASTING is a standalone read with a happy ever after. There are sex scenes and colorful language if that is an issue for you. This story has a hockey background. The hero is a young player. The heroine is one of his coaches. She was playing hockey until an injury sidelined her and now she is coaching. She is quite good and a valuable part of the team. Coop was traded to the team 2 years ago.
This is a team of champions. They are a family as well as a team. They all look after one another and have each others back. Some of the players have a little bit of a problem with a white female coach but she has proven herself so many times that they are getting over their issues. Calle has issues from her childhood. However, she has a great job, a nice place to live and she loves her life. Until she discovers she is pregnant.
Her ex had come to town and she foolishly let being lonely guide her to make a very bad decision. Her ex is a bit immature and not ready to be a father. He tells her to get rid of it and he wants no part of her or a baby. After talking to herself she decides that she can handle this on her own and she will handle it.
Coop has been playing on the team for 2 years. He has been in love with Calle for that period of time. He knows she is the only one for him. Coop is African American so this is an interracial love story. He knows Calle likes him but she is his coach and he is her player and the company frowns on that kind of relationship. She could be accused of favoritism and that wouldn't work.
Coop finds out she is pregnant by her ex and he doesn't care. There are still a lot of issues to work through. This is an interesting, entertaining story and I definitely recommend it. It is interesting to see how they worked through their issues and found their happy ever after.
