Dear Bridget, I Want You Paperback – September 18, 2017
From the New York Times Bestselling authors of Stuck-Up Suit and Mister Moneybags comes a sexy new standalone novel.
Dear Bridget,
I’m writing this letter because it’s highly doubtful I’ll ever garner the courage to say this to your face.
So, here goes.
We’re totally wrong for each other. You’re the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I’m just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England.
But here’s the thing… for some bloody reason, I can’t stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
I want you.
The only reason I’m even admitting all of this to you right now is because I don’t believe it’s one-sided. I notice your eyes when you look at me, too. And as crass as I appear when we’re joking around about sex, my attraction to you is not a joke.
So, what’s the purpose of this note? I guess it’s a reminder that we’re adults, that sex is healthy and natural, and that you can find me just through the door past the kitchen. More specifically, it’s to let you know that I’m leaving said door cracked open from now on in case you’d like to visit me in the middle of the night sometime.
No questions asked.
Think about it.
Or don’t.
Whatever you choose.
It’s doubtful I’ll even end up sliding this letter under your door anyway.
—Simon

- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2017Amazingly beautiful and pure pleasure .Absolutely one of the most enjoyable book in this year . The co-writing of this two writer brings many fabulous books, but this one is unstoppable. From the first page to last one, my face wear huge smile. Dr. Simon is one of my favorite character from books world. Charming hot huge hearten with Brit accent person, that I fell in love with him at the beginning of the book. Bridget is a single mom who experienced a tragedy at the very beginning of her life together with her husband.
The plot is surprising and fascinating, and every moment of reading is an extraordinary experience.
If tomorrow it will become a comedy film it is going to win a prize. (I hope it will become a film )
Highly recommended

- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2021This is the exact same story as another book that I had read by these authors called British Bedmate. The cover and title are different and that's all! Very deceiving. I returned this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2017This was a funny book and Simon had a sincere side that was very heart warming. Great book, gals!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2018Very entertaining story of how a casual relationship can change. I loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2017What I enjoy about a Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland story is that they always manage to make me smile, often rant and blush all at once. In Dear Bridget, I Want You we meet Bridget and Simon as they become unlikely housemates, friends and then struggle with the potential for more.
Bridget is a nurse who needs to make more money so she rents her annex apartment out to a friend-of-a-friend who needs a room for a while. What she doesn't expect is for that friend to be the uber sexy, yet irritating doctor she embarrassed herself in front of months ago.
The two form a sweet and hilarious friendship which leads to some often awkward moments. They have a pretty intense connection which they are determined to ignore as Simon's only around for a short while and Bridget has to be careful of her young son Brendan.
As a Brit I'm not going to be easily won over by an English doctor or his accent. To be honest my accent is somewhere between Elizabeth Bennett's and Eliza Doolittle's so being from Leeds Simon's accent is pretty standard round here and no he probably won't sound like Mark Darcy. What Simon did use to win this Brit over was his flirty charm and banter, as well as how caring he is with both Bridget and Brendan.
Bridget is scared of getting hurt again and has erected some pretty big emotional walls around her heart. Simon has his own set of concerns and has a constant battle between what he thinks he wants and what he actually needs.
The only slight negative for me is a huge spoiler so I can't really say much. I will point out it's an event I've unfortunately seen in the last four books I've read with this subject matter so I'm REALLY hoping I won't find it again in the next one. Once I got past my frustration over the revelation I carried on enjoying the story and wanted Simon and Bridget to take a chance on each other.
Simon really brings out the swoon and made me laugh with his smutty innuendos whilst Bridget is vulnerable and charming.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2017Sweet. Endearing. Sexy as heck and loads of fun. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward deliver all this and more with their newest co-written romantic comedy, Dear Bridget, I Want You.
Simon, God how love this man! He is the perfect blend of intelligent doctor, sexy hero, and a man with inappropriate but incredibly hilarious sense of humor. From the minute Simon enters the picture, his personality draws readers to his character. I only fell in love with him more as he showed his understanding, his compassion, his protective nature, and his endless capacity for love. There really is not one aspect of this hero that turned me off.
Bridget is a woman struggling with loss, with moving on, with being inadequate, but even though she has all of this weighing down on her, she still is incredibly confident as a mother and in her role as a nurse. She has the right balance of vulnerable and assertive, and I had nothing but admiration for her character.
This story is so much fun and heartfelt. It focuses on loss, of putting oneself out there, of risking it all for love. Plus, it showcases real love, a love the heals, that binds, and that love isn't just a once in a lifetime experience. I felt these characters' emotions - their doubt, their difficulty, and their passion for each other. This not a lot of angst in this book, and usually this is a negative for me, but Simon and Bridget's story is filled with so many hurdles and obstacles that I enjoyed the lack of additional issues. The way they dealt with these issues is also a breathe of fresh air.
As always, these two deliver a must read romantic comedy that is entertaining, steamy, and filled to the brim with love in all forms. They never disappoint, and Dear Bridget, I Want You is just more of the same.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solide Geschichte ohne viel Drama
