This is so much more than I expected. The intro into this world is very spicy and action packed, I love the many different characters. Breena and Colleen were amazing main characters and their chemistry was perfection. This isn't a slow burn as it never is when mates are involved. I loved it all and can't wait to continue with the series. Jack Callihan and Stephanie Rose did an amazing job.

I received an ALC from Pink Flamingo Productions

This was a great starting book setting up a race for the world with the Four Horsemen. I found the premise incredibly interesting how the main character first discovered his path. The story came together for quite the ride which was full of twists and a quick pace. WHile I actually listened to this and did not read the narrators did a great job giving life to this story..

A great start to an awesome new series.

Breena didn’t wanna be Connell’s mate but now that she is she wouldn’t change it for the world. They fight to save the world from the apocalypse and fight the demons and try to take down a demonologist who is helping to break the seals to bring on the end of the world. It is a race against time to save the world.

I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance lovers. I can't wait for the next book 'War'.

Stilted, poorly crafted writing. Cardboard, unrealistic characters: insufficient development. Generally unlikeable overall.

Cannot recommend. Unprofessional level of work, lacking any quality of editing.

Advice to writer: Read aloud. You'll find what's wrong. Good luck. 👍🏽

Conner has been awoken as the first horseman of the apocalypse, but he does not know it yet. Breena has been sent to stop him, but she is not sure which of the men has been awoken.
Oh this was an awesome read!
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.

Ember-Raine Winters is a new to me author and she didn't disappoint. I love paranormal reads and this one was so amazing. Connell and Breena had me riveted from the first page. The chemistry and connection between these two is something you can't look away from. The spin Ember puts on the four horseman has you wanting more. I'm hooked and can't wait to see where she leads us with War.

Conquest, the first in the new series by Ember-Raine Winters, is a great beginning to a new world. Her spin on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse is very intriguing. Honestly, the book had me invested from the very beginning and I can’t wait for more.

*Winters’ world-building was very well done. In this PNR/Urban Fantasy, she mixes in the realistic with the fantastical and makes it all believable. This is a world that we live in, but also one that we don’t. Her characters were dynamic and had me rooting for them. While the romance is a fast-burn, it is also fate so it works out well.
*The storyline flows well and keeps readers interested and invested in the lives of Connell and Breena. Readers see both POVs throughout the novel. It is written in close first-person narrative which gives wonderful insight into their thoughts and reactions. As Connell is new to this supernatural world, the reader is able to experience and learn about the wonder and horror of it first hand through his eyes.
*Winters’ characters are dynamic and make the reader feel for them. While there is a lot of action happening very quickly, the author is able to make it all flow and work really well. I do wish that Connell had struggled a little bit more against what was going on, but that is really the only complaint. The backup characters, Grady and Elderan, added to the storyline. Both had me questioning their motivation and also have me curious as to the hierarchy in the world. Little hints are dropped but nothing is outright said, great job there.

Overall, this is a great spin to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Winters’ had me turning the page to continue reading what was going on and what would happen next. She drew me in and has me interested in where the series is going to go. I can’t wait to see where she will be going with this series!

I received an ARC of this book for my fair and honest review.
