About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Gwendalyn Belle, a native Oregonian, wrote her first book, Doodle Duck, at the age of nine, at the end of her third grade year. Her mom, author Roslyn McFarland, put her through a full editing process, while wonderful friend April Bullard added a whole new level of fun with her amazing illustrations. With more ideas to put down, Gwen wrote Digger Dog during her fourth grade year, and Cool Cat (the latest in the CYOSB series) this past year while in fifth grade.
Eleven years old now, Gwendalyn is already working on the final story in the Color Your Own Story Book series, featuring Doodle Duck, Digger Dog, and Cool Cat's frog friend. She has also started her first chapter book, and hopes to get the first draft finished over her summer break.
When not in school, Gwendalyn enjoys music, swimming, volleyball, playing with her sister, and romping with the family's extra-large dogs.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

APRIL BULLARD resides with her husband aboard their houseboat on the Columbia River near Vancouver, Washington. She admits to 55 years of age, over 35 years of marriage, mother of 3, grandmother of 4, navy veteran, and a fondness for chocolate.
