Diane Donovan, senior reviewer from Midwest Book Review praised White Oaks, calling it, "an unusually multifaceted tale that holds the ability to prompt laughter from thriller-style tension."
A sequel to White Oaks, Black Willows, follows the adventures of the squabbling, dysfunctional Trapnell family. Red Pines, third in the series of Trapnell family thrillers, will be released in April 2024.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020Amazing collection of ghost stories!! Not a bad one in the bunch. I highly recommend this to anybody who loves a well-crafted tale of supernatural happenstance!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2020Editor Sue J. Eaton has pulled together an entertaining collection of sixteen ghost stories. The Kindle presentation is well considered and doesn't structurally distract the reader, which deserves comment as many are not so well done. The volume itself is short, and requires very little time to read its entirety.
I must be getting jaded when it comes to ghost stories (I read many), as none of these were particularly surprising or suspenseful. I did enjoy reading the book however. My favorite stories were "Everything Here is Mine", "Anna in the Night", and "Ligeia". This is the kind of book you'll read once, happily enjoy while doing so, and likely never come back for a second go.
I rate it a 4, based on the FCP book review standard. Priced at $2.99 on Amazon, this is a good value and sure to entertain.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2019I love ghost stories. I'm a tremendous fan of M.R. James and Sheridan Le Fanu, two masters of old-school horror. But for modern accounts of ghostly doings, these sixteen tales can't be beat.
Full disclosure: I'm one of the authors. My short story, The Scrambler, is based on a real event that happened to me in Maine long ago. That's all I'll say about THAT, although I still feel a chill when I hear an old-fashioned telephone ring.
Swim at Your Own Risk, by Matthew Gorman is among my favorites. It takes place in a luxury hotel in Rome and involves a tourist who encounters a little girl at the hotel's swimming pool.
Button, Button by Eryn Hiscock absolutely blew me away. It begins humorously with a Civil War re-enactor turning up at a woman's home, asking for something to eat, and it slowly gets...weird.
All the tales in this anthology are worthwhile. I know I'll be reading them again and again.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2020A solid collection of ghost stories that are well-written and provide a range of experiences. I wasn't particularly scared by any of them but they are still memorable nonetheless.
My picks of the bunch are 'Ligeia' by Mike Sherer, a seductive tale of a dangerous Siren; 'The Garden' by Sue Eaton, an interesting take of eco-horror; 'Swim At Your Own Risk' by Matthew Gorman, simple yet terribly effective; 'The Walking Woman' by Christopher Wilson, a tragic haunting story, and 'Everything Here Is Mine' by J.A.W McCarthy, a dark tale of vengeance. Overall, an entertaining horror anthology and I'm happy to discover new authors to read!
Thank you to the publisher for a review copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality anthology
I am a ghost story fan but am often disappointed in modern ghost stories, so ordered this anthology not quite knowing what to expect. I read the whole book in a day. The writing was excellent, the stories were original, scary, moving and atmospheric. There was not one story I felt tempted to skip. I will be checking out the horror anthologies and really hope to see more ghost stories from this publisher.
